Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Charnleys Knockdown & Rebuild - PCI Pics Galore Finally 321Jul 04, 2013 10:45 pm Oh you have good taste Charnley. Me pick white duck half and quarter too hehe Re: Charnleys Knockdown & Rebuild - Thanks Telstra NOT! 322Jul 05, 2013 9:12 pm Thanks serial. It has turned out lovely. In am so happy a with. I finally picked a good paint colour . Our front fence has also been bricked up. Now we just need to get in rendered. I would post pics but thanks to Telstra I have no Internet so I can't upload pics as I am doing thing on my phone. I rang Telstra yesterday to organise disconnection at our rental and connection at our new house to happen on our move date about 2 weeks time. So all good, they said it would happen between 8-8.30am on our move date . So I wake up this morning and no net WTF . Ring Telstra spend half an hour being shuffled between operators and finally they tell me that they have disconnected the net as of today. I work from home so not happy. Well put it back on - we can't we have to cancel to whole order . Which means now I lose the tech appointment to connect the new house and have to wait an extra week. So I said go ahead and cancel the order but they still can't connect me until at least Monday. All because somebody pressed the wrong button. They really are useless so no net. I think I am going to have withdrawals . Have a great weekend all hopefully I will be back Monday Re: Charnleys Knockdown & Rebuild - Thanks Telstra NOT! 323Jul 05, 2013 11:39 pm Charnley Thanks serial. It has turned out lovely. I think I am going to have withdrawals . Have a great weekend all hopefully I will be back Monday I DO NOT BELIEVE THIS!!!!!! I rang Telstra on Wednesday afternoon to organise disconnection on the 25th and reconnection on the 26th July. It was very importsnt that it would go well because i also work from home and I stressed that I had had previous bad experiences. It took a whole 45 minutes but she confirmed everything was done and organised. Yesterday morning I start work and NO NET. I spent altogether 4 hrs on the phone, the supervisor I spoke to told me to get a 4G stick and they would reimburse me for it. She promised she would call every 2 hours to give me an update on what's happening. She never did!! I had her ID number and name but they refused to put me through to her. After speaking to 3 different people in some foreign country to try and connect my 4G stick (unsuccessfully) I totally lost it and just started sobbing and ended up hanging up on them. I don't know whether this means my order is also cancelled but I can't be bothered finding out. Charnley this is the 3rd time they've done this to me in 3 years (every move basically). The first one took 3 weeks to reinstate me. They are a joke, and this must happen to just about everyone by the sounds of it. I HATE THEM WITH A PASSION Re: Charnleys Knockdown & Rebuild - Thanks Telstra 324Jul 06, 2013 6:28 am i also had problems with connection to telstra alot of no shows, told to ring complaints department and a lovely girl helped she was fanstastic it took several weeks to fix(still not quite there) but she constantly rang me back to fix the problems telstra was the only one i could go with as optus told me in the operators word we have had a fight with telstra and they will not let us near your area Re: Charnleys Knockdown & Rebuild - Thanks Telstra 325Jul 06, 2013 9:35 am Rocky they shouldn't take several weeks to fix everyone's lines in the first place. I had to swap to them because Westnet and Optus had no lines left for our area and I have regretted that move for 3 years. Where are our choices?? I hate them with a passion Hope you have things sorted soon Charnley. I'm in meantime using my 4G stick (which I have to remove every time I want to print - which is often. Someone explain that quirky little glitch to me ) Re: Charnleys Knockdown & Rebuild - Thanks Telstra 326Jul 06, 2013 10:15 am Good old Telstra. Took me 4 months to fix something they put onto my bill which I didn't even have. Must have spent 10 hours speaking to people, all promising to fix yet it never was. Hijacked your thread Charnley. Sorry x Re: Charnleys Knockdown & Rebuild - Thanks Telstra 328Jul 08, 2013 8:00 pm Telecommunications Ombudsman. I actually cant believe that I am not the only one that they have done this to. After 5 days of trying to get my ADSL reinstated I have given up. I have to admit the guy that I finally got put onto was excellent and has been very helpful. He has called me back numerous times exactly when he said he would and has done all in his power to get this sorted. However at the end of the day it is a huge mess to the point when they have had to cancel my whole account and give me a new email address in order to get my new connection up and running. . With my current one they have put a data pack on my phone that I can run the net through so I will be right now until the new one in connected. Deemaree Telecommunications Ombudsman. Just sayin' Yes threatened this on a number of occasions On the upside our Shutters have gone in - A1 - the company/guy that did them was amazing - best service, quality product and he even left me flowers to say thank you for our business . So nice when you get to deal with a professional that you can rely on and has pride in their work. Today all our other blinds and curtains went in. I haven't had a chance to see them yet so cant wait to get to the house tomorrow and have a peek. Then on Thursday our carpet goes in and Friday we should get our keys. Packing like crazy and the kids are on holidays - makes it fun . If I am still sane come the end of next week I will be surprised. Re: Charnleys Knockdown & Rebuild - Thanks Telstra 330Jul 10, 2013 8:32 am Can't wait to see pics of your shutters, can I ask how long they took from order to install? Telstra...say no more, they still have me as an 'organisation' and I've never had an ABN before? Went to the Ombudsmen it made no difference, due to a technical glitch in the Telstra system I will always be an organisation therefore get all my bills from their business side?!? Rant over You are so brave packing in the holidays...packing up your house mixed in with the "I'm hungry", "I'm bored" and the squabbling over everything! I'm on day 3 and beginning to buckle under the pressure... Re: Charnleys Knockdown & Rebuild - Thanks Telstra 331Jul 10, 2013 8:46 am I used to have panic attacks the week before school holidays trying to get a 'plan' together for holiday survival. I feel for you guys. Haha Good luck Charnley, I will be thinking of you Friday We ordered shutters months ago Scotty and Charnley and I believe they are still on a ship enjoying the journey. Doesnt matter how organized you are, theres always a glitch. What colour did you go for Charnley? White? Still no Internet for me. Telstra Manager at store has given me a $100 good will credit, that just about covers the $89.95 I spent on the toggle and the petrol for having to visit telstra twice. So generous. Very happy for you that you at least had someone call you regularly, I still haven't recd a single call. Don't care, I'm happyyyyyyyyy, roll on Friday for both of us. Re: Charnleys Knockdown & Rebuild - Thanks Telstra 332Jul 10, 2013 9:28 am Im very jealous of all you ladies having pci in the next week'! Hope it all goes smoothly! We are still considering shutters for out place but im not sure if the budget can stretch anymore? Cant wait to see the finish pics of your place charnley, its going to look stunning! My build thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=64437 Re: Charnleys Knockdown & Rebuild - Thanks Telstra 333Jul 10, 2013 11:12 am Urgh - Telstra. They outsourced a $2K mobile phone bill to a debt collection agency who sent me letters (addressed only to Miss A Surname) for two years. I kept sending them back with notes explaining I had never had a mobile account in my name with Telstra and they had the wrong person. I ended up ringing them and said "I've got a letter here for Miss A Surname, there's two of us here with that initial, can you tell me which one of us it's for please?" Lo and behold, they were looking for an Angela Surname, not an Anne. The next week Telstra and the agency got a letter (just as friendly as theirs had been ) telling them if they wanted to take me to court they were very welcome, but seeing as my name wasn't Angela they might have a hard time. Oh, and they'd be hearing from the ombudsman and my lawyer as well if they pursued it. Didn't hear a peep after that. Good luck with the school holiday/packing fiesta! DH is a teacher AND I work from home so I get stuck with three kids (aged 6, 8 and 37 ) looking for things to keep them amused and out of my hair. At least when it does come time to pack up they're old enough to be partially useful...but I'm dreading the thought of no internet - no internet and I can't work at all! ~ Anne I used to be indecisive but now I'm not quite sure. Eeek - We're embarking on a knockdown rebuild! Click here for our build thread Our blog: kdrhome.wordpress.com Re: Charnleys Knockdown & Rebuild - Thanks Telstra 334Jul 10, 2013 1:32 pm Another Telstra hater here too! we just moved and tried to move our service over... I wont go into too much boring detail but basically same thing - nothing worked - constantly moved from foreign person to foreign person after spending a good 20 minutes explaining my problems-and then starting all over again with the next rep so I told them to stick it and cancelled my contract. This isnt the first problems I have had with them either... I almost had a mental breakdown just trying to get the service in the first place! so needless to say I will be going with another provider and if I cant I will have no internet. Cant wait to see pics of the place! Re: Charnleys Knockdown & Rebuild - Thanks Telstra 335Jul 10, 2013 9:03 pm i am not a fan of telstra either... i haven't got services with them but my mum does as she lives in bremer bay so cn only have telstra.... since she lives in a caravan we wanted to get her one of those wireless hotspots thingamyjigs and since she was in Perth thought it may be easier if we went to a store as DF could set it up for her before she went home.... she was in perth having a hip replacement (at 55yo ) so we went in with her on crutches and they said because she was an existing customer (mobile) that they couldn't do it in store!!!!!!!! i was like.... so we can't pay you more money per month unless we sign up online... good luck with the packing!!!! Re: Charnleys Knockdown & Rebuild - Thanks Telstra 336Jul 12, 2013 10:15 am All the best for today!! My build thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=64437 Re: Charnleys Knockdown & Rebuild - Thanks Telstra 337Jul 12, 2013 11:29 am Thanks guys actually got keys last night. Very happy. Carpets in yesterday and it finally feels like home. Tried to take some pics last night but on my phone they did'nt turn out to well so will head over today and try and get some. At the moment I am done with Telstra until they try to connect the new service. On the upside I don't have to pay for any of the connection fees. I suppose I should be grateful for that. They did conceded that this is a technical glitch in their system and just about everyone that requests their Internet to be moved will get disconnected the next day. just super. Rant over You are so brave packing in the holidays...packing up your house mixed in with the "I'm hungry", "I'm bored" and the squabbling over everything! I'm on day 3 and beginning to buckle under the pressure... Hi Scotty we were told 8 weeks but they actually were ready in about 5 but then our shutter guy was fabulous. I am surprise up until yesterday the kids have been great except for the constantly hungry thing. I honestly don't know how a six year old can eat as much as he does. Yes serial just went with white. Our shutter guy said he installed some in a littles girls rooms that were pink and yellow. but I said I was fine with plain old white. They look great and so happy with the quality. Our cupboard door is still missing but not about to let that prevent us from moving in. Bring on Monday. It's going to be a busy weekend. Good luck to the rest of you. I will try to post some pics tonight if I can get some decent ones. Can't believe we are finally here. It's been a long journey and we have had a relatively smooth build but glad that we can now move in and concentrate on the next thing. Gardens.
