I saw our SS at the house this morning and she said I should look into just a normal sliding fly screen and she can recess it into the floor when they recess the doors. Am going to get quotes and hope its a lot cheaper than the retractable. Ours is for a sliding door, not the stacker. Yours house looks so finished already! Your mantle is just what I am after- I saw one similar at Subiaco Restoration - is that where you got it? Re: Charnleys Knockdown & Rebuild -Mantle & Garden 383Sep 12, 2013 8:41 am Adore the shutters on outside view and those verandah tails, all blends beautifully Are you having any flowering ornamental fruit trees? Your plantings and roses will suit your house so well. Love the fireplace mantle too. Everything looks just right, well done, you! Re: Charnleys Knockdown & Rebuild -Mantle & Garden 384Sep 14, 2013 3:50 pm Gorgeous house Charnley and I just LOVE what you did for your daughters bed....the bed just looks amazing! Did you put in the colorbond fencing or was it from your neighbours? I was just wondering what colour it was if you knew? Re: Charnleys Knockdown & Rebuild -Mantle & Garden 385Sep 14, 2013 8:28 pm I love seeing this house now after "being there" at the start- it looks gorgeous and friendly. Do you have to pull the curtains over to sleep? Hi Trees Sorry for the long silence. Its been crazy getting everything sorted out. I still love love love my shutters. At the moment we don't pull the curtains across however and it doesn't bother me. As it gets warmer however we may start doing it. They are not total blockout but do as good a job as any other blinds eg rollers, venetians. Will have to get over and catch up on your build. Hope all is going smoothly. Re: Charnleys Knockdown & Rebuild -Mantle & Garden 389Mar 09, 2014 11:41 pm Hi Charnley, we just accepted a quote for shutters...Hoping I won't have to add curtains to sleep. We are early risers though so I think it will be okay with our east facing bedroom. I have gone for blockout blinds in the kids and tv room though... the FFL ones are bifold because of the size of the window.
