Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Feb 03, 2012 9:11 am Do any of the volume builders use online sites to communicate build progress and status, share documents etc? If so, what was your experience? My experience of an account manager between me and the site supervisor was pretty poor, so I was interested if other builders are trying to do this online? Chatz Re: Online status from builders 2Feb 03, 2012 10:31 am I built with Simonds; they had an online account for me to sign into (which was meant to track my building progress). It was quite useful in the stages before site start as I could tell when they had applied for and/or been approved for permits etc. However once the actual building started they never really updated it. There was also the facility for them to post pictures of the build and they never did so. Re: Online status from builders 3Feb 04, 2012 12:40 am agree with Grom40, I am currently building with Simonds and they have the "My Simonds" account you can log into. You can view exactly what stage you are at and what to expect to happen during that stage. But all of the volume builders have something similar. I have seen a screen dump of a Porter Davis one as well as a Metr1con one. I find the best way to is to ask exactly what you are after, then they will send it to you. I also visit the site fortnightly with the site supervisor and get updates on what is happening now and what is next and I ask these questions directly to the site supervisor in person, and I write these down in my diary. Our site supervisor works in 2 week cycles. The site supervisor knows exactly what is happening next, the account manager will only know what he has been told by the site supervisor. But if you don't get responces by email, always email to the site supervisor and cc the account manager, if that doesn't work and you still don't know what is happening with your build go to the site supervisors manager. I have never done this, but have read threads and blogs where people have had to. I find it better to get the info straight from the site super in person on a site visit. I read your blog and found it very informative and I love your home. hubby, kids and me all waiting for the Amberlea Site Cut 27 September 2011 https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=46637 http://www.dscml.com/ Re: Online status from builders 4Feb 04, 2012 12:49 am PD has an online account function as well called 24/7 Its quite good - they update it quite regularly with updates Cheers, Alpal Building PD Heathmont 40 BLOG: http://alpal-pd-heathmont40.blogspot.com/ Deposit paid 19/08/2011 Contract signing 3/10/2011 Site Start 10/11/2011 Slab 23/11/2011 1 2979 Hi, This is my first post.
