Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Feb 01, 2012 4:55 pm Hiya everyone, i was just wandering if there's anyone from WA who has built or building with Domain homes. are they good, how much did you pay? how long they took and whats your plan? thank you heaps kelly Re: WA Domain Homes... questions 2Feb 04, 2012 5:18 pm Hi Kelly, we are having a our floor plan put into one of there homes . so much of this comes down to the sales man unfortunately and although we dont think that should be what we base our decision on im sure it will influence us lol. we felt the guy we are dealing with listened to us, he didnt prommise the world but we think he is trying to give us what we want and has suggested ways to get the effect we want for less. fingers crossed when he comes back next week with the base price it is fair, i looked at houses with same sqm with diffent builders so know how much we think the base cost should be, from there we look at what they are charging to make the changes- exstend eves etc. I have two other quotes to come in but we are thinking a company that has salesmen who know what they are talking about rather than just flashy -it a good start. we are spending on the floor plan, the windows , sliding doors and bathrooms - layout. trying to get the bones right. I think there is a hell of a lot of money to be saved by getting stuff done at leasure after. like getting the render finished right round the house with some one recomended by a friend rather than pay the premium charged by the builders. I am sooooo sick of those builders who ask me "How much will the bank let u borrow" like WTF, Do they not get that this is about how much we are prepaired to spend - not how much we can. I want to still have a life. This is my first build, we have renovated before but this is a whole new game! What plan are you looking at building and where ? Nelly Re: WA Domain Homes... questions 3Sep 25, 2012 3:15 pm Kelly & Nelly Sorry to be negative here but we were looking at the Realm, modified, but are now looking into cancelling. We have finance, we have the land, Plunkett / Domain just can't seem to get their act together, and we're starting to see more and more negatives against them in the Forums. Our Salesman was very good, and extremely helpful, but once we got to pre-start and beyond it also turns out he wasn't very accurate. Communication since pre-start has been minimal, and poor. Sorry it's bad news from us. Personally, considering your layout (study/work desks in bedrooms), I don't think you have any other option but to leave NW windows and make them as big as possible e.g.… 7 7866 We had this happen to us last year and got charged a variation.
