Make sure you check the colors in the daylight - the lights inside cosham are not that good. There is a small "bump" for the sliding door track, but otherwise it is the same level. Especially, at cosham it all depends on who the consultant is. The first time i went down the girl who was 'helping' us out was horrible (deluck or some name like that)and asked us within an hour of reaching there 'guys, how long are you going to take'.. We were quite intimidated and ended up selecting a lot of things which we werent happy with once we reviewed our selections back at home. We then asked for another appointment and this time around the consultant was Dee. You'll be fine with Dee as we found her professionalism and attitude very pleasing and helpful. Same applies to the admins you are assigned to. We dealt with a lady called Vannessa Fennel at head office initially and that resulted in us going through 6 or 7 tenders. Lots of admin mistakes and confusion which you wouldnt expect from a company of Henley's stature and reputation. It eventually took one of their estimators from HO to call me to sort out the confusion and he was very thorough and fixed it all up in 5 minutes (the same thing Vanessa and the girls at admin went back and forth numerous times). Anyways, our file got handed over to Sonja and she was very good to deal with. I found that for the price you pay, their customer service lacks by a HUGE margin. From most parties in the company, you get the 'we dont care attitude'. Some are really good though. So it all depends on your luck. Our house is in the completion stage and like most others on the forum mentioned, they have slown down considerably. I cant comment on the quality of work yet as im yet to go through a proper inspection. But fingers crossed, the sienna turns out as the display (looks awesome in display as usual).. All the best.. Re: henley homes/cosham interiors sienna Q1 eden gardens epp 7Jun 15, 2012 11:45 pm +1 with Dee, ask to have the appointment with her if you can. Ours took 2 days, on the first day that girl yearned at us, with Dee the on second day, what a difference. Just take your time and don't rush, you don't have to finish the whole lot in one appointment. My experience with Henley was a painful one. Things started going down the drain once the file passed on to the head office. The first admin girl stuffed up my tender, half of the things in the tender doc were missing and that's $150k worth of changes/upgrade missing. One of the boss was there during tender, the presenter was actually yelling at him about how he need to run his company. It took 2 days to complete the tender. That admin girls who stuffed up my tender got fired I was told later on. The subsequent admins I got were absolutely clueless, most of the problems encountered during the built were as the result of the clueless admin girls. The SS was a lovely bloke as a person but I will not want to hire him to work for me, but Henley love him so much he got all the big houses these days. And don't get my started on the post handover service. As for the finish quality, if you're happy with their display quality, then you're probably not that fussy after all. Look beyond their deco in display and look closer to the tile finish, plaster finish etc, you'll find Henley's finish quality, in Melbourne west at least is definitely not up to scratch. Having said that, the house is structurally as good as any other builders out there. It is the cosmetic imperfection that bugs you coz you will be seeing them as long as you live there. (if anyone is interested in seeing a rubbish finished house, PM me, I'm more than happy to show you my house) Do get an inspector (Henley in generally is quite happy to fix what the inspector picked up) and insisted in one that will also look into the finish quality for you. For some reason my inspector, who was highly recommended by members in this forum and the most expensive one in Melb, passes all those things I personally reckon should not be passed, he's more interested in looking at my fancy fitting than finding defects. what can I say, if it's not on the list, it wont get fixed. Last Tip. communicate with them via Email. Built: Modified H3nl3y S0h0 Q1 in Melbourne :- Never again Re: henley homes/cosham interiors sienna Q1 eden gardens epp 8Jun 18, 2012 12:23 pm Having only started the process, I have to agree thats its a matter of luck on who you get that will define your experience I think. What made us go with Henley is the transparency, we saw many builders and got many quotes but it was the fact that we knew what upgrades/alterations were going to cost from the start that made us like Henley just that much better, plus their standard inclusions and "Cat 1" selections were much better than the other builders we've seen. From there its really just a matter of luck, for example we didnt like the sales person we got coz we felt he had an attitude issue but he proved us wrong by being so helpful and going over and beyond with our quotes. Our colour selection was the complete opposite, we went to cosham about 7 times before our colour appointment and during that time we had dealt with many of the girls there and they all appeared lovely and helpful until it came to our colour appointment and we got a colour consultant who was still training or something so everything took even longer and at the end they had to rush us coz it was 9pm and they needed to finish while the other clients who were got an experienced consultant and appeared to have a very pleasant experience. We didnt actually have a Tender appointment because of the FHBG everything was rushed the tender got emailed to us and there of course a lot of mistakes (which was to be expected) but because our Admin obviously had alot on her plate and we only had 3 days between tender and our contract appiontment we felt her correspondance to us could have been better. But when we went for our Contract signing appointment we got a different admin coz our one got caught up with other clients and you know what I couldnt be happier coz the replacement admin was amazing, not only was she super friendly but she was very helpful and answered all our questions and I'm glad we got her. So it really comes down to luck with who you end up with, as a builder i think Henley are one of the best when it comes to volume builder. As far as mistakes they are bound to happy whether its a volume builder or custom build its more how they go about fixing those mistakes that differentiate them from others. I could very well be singing a different tune when by the end of the build but I think the important thing is to be prepared at every stage have a list of all the stuff you need to Check/ask/confirm however long it is and take your time with everything.
