Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jan 27, 2012 11:26 am Hi, I am looking at buying a piece of Land and will qualify for the First Home Owners Grant as well as the Regional Grant so the total is $26,500. My question is, they are stating this Grant ends on 30/06/2012. The land that we are looking at isn't due to Title until May 2012, what happens if the land gets pushed back and doesn't title until after 30 June. Do we then miss out on this grant as we are not actually the owners of the Land before 30 June? Also what about if we sign the building contract prior to 30 June would we then be able to apply if something goes wrong with the land or we are not able to apply for the FHOG if the land title is delayed. Please Help...I am not sure if this is a stupid question or not I just need some help understanding it and am starting to get panicked as reading so many other forum many many people have land titles pushed back. Thanks Re: Help with First Home Owners Grant Victoria 2Jan 27, 2012 4:23 pm Yes - you can still get it. You will have to ask the developer to provide a letter to advise that you have signed contracts before that date but the land is delayed. Same as the builder -as long as you sign the contracts before that date - the builder can issue you with the letter to send to your lender who submits to the govt. on your behalf for the grant.
