The block won't be titled until approximately Feb. next year, so we have a bit of time to do some research and obviously, save some more cash!
We have a rough idea of our requirements, and have already seen some suitable floorplans from a couple of the larger building companies (Simonds, Burbank and MetriconFirst).
We are limited, in that, the block is fairly narrow (12.5m), but so far, it appears that many companies provide for this.
We also have a limited budget (I guess everyone does), which is what has initially attracted us to these 'bigger' companies.
However, upon reading some of the posts on this forum, and hearing some people's horror stories on the 'grapevine', I obviously have my concerns, but, I can't afford to be ultra fussy either!
I have heard some good feedback about GJ Gardner homes (Thomastown branch- franchise) from two different people I trust, but as far as I am aware, the "packages" aren't as "complete" or inclusive, as maybe some of the bigger companies can offer.
I was just wondering if anyone out there could provide some opinions or information on any of the companies I have mentioned above, perhaps based on any personal experience, or any tips in general for the "first home builder"! Thank-you
