SarieM Same as LTD we met our SS on the first week of the brickwork Can I ask what was discussed at the meeting? I asked hubby if he thinks we need to have the meeting sooner and he wanted to know why we need one at all Our custom Gemmill Home in Bedfordale WA Build thread:https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=53788 Timeline on page 1 Re: Our custom Gemmill home in Bedfordale WA - SLABBED!!!!!! 893Dec 19, 2012 11:37 am kerry-ann yOU BEAT ME TO IT,DID THE STALKING DRIVE-BY(BUGGER CAPS) to see a fork lift,DD & i looked at each other & said "wonder if they are for you" Drove around again & WOOHOO they were.............. big CONGRATS Chuffy took a pic of the brick truck driving past her house and I was like they have to be for me, please, please, please and they were They are much nicer than I was expecting. They are only utility bricks as the whole house is being rendered (apart from the inside of the garage) so I was expecting those ugly red ones but they could almost pass as face bricks. Very happy as this means my house won't look completely hideous until its rendered Our custom Gemmill Home in Bedfordale WA Build thread:https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=53788 Timeline on page 1 Re: Our custom Gemmill home in Bedfordale WA - Bricks delive 894Dec 19, 2012 11:56 am Oh i missed the whole house render bit I thought they looked like a very popular brick i have seen around the place, meant you have great taste I think our appointment with SS first time was at bricks up stage. Oh & i have just searched the web about the lovely orange weep hole thingys,SS told us that the orange cover stays on,seems they dont & the mesh is behind them. Is that when the brickwork was finished? kerry-ann Oh i missed the whole house render bit I thought they looked like a very popular brick i have seen around the place, meant you have great taste The ones at the front in the pic are the bricks for the inside of the garage - Austral Federation Limestone. I'm actually a bit unsure of these and wondering how well it will go with the external colour scheme. At the time we didn't think it was overly important because its just the inside of the garage which won't get seen much but now I'm starting to question our decision Here's a close up of the exterior utility bricks Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ While they are definitely not the prettiest brick in the world, that are much nicer the interior ones that you can see in the background. Hope they sort out the rest of the issues and the extra earthworks does'ntcost too much. Wont be long and you are going to have lovely walls. I asked hubby if he thinks we need to have the meeting sooner and he wanted to know why we need one at all I think it's just a chance to meet the SS on site to put a face to the name and ask any questions you may have about the build and guesstimate rough timelines. I didn't go to our meeting, hubby did, so not sure exactly what else was said. I wouldn't think it would be absolutely necessary to meet with the SS sooner than plate height unless your patience is wearing thin I was so excited for you when I saw that your bricks had been delivered, now I can't wait to see the first round of brickwork photos I can't remember what colours you picked for the render so will have to go back and have a squiz...
