Jarrah will look amazing especially with your bush surroundings. We've gone with 130mm Blackbutt boards (hubby's choice on the wide boards) havent heard anything bout twisting and cupping with direct stick only the old school methods had those problems. Wishing you all the best, I feel for you for all the problems you've had to face but there will be light at the end of the tunnel a beautiful home in an amazing setting. I am little bit confused though as I thought the hold up was that we couldn't get power until they dug the service trench and that hasn't been done. They have installed the temporary box at the start of the driveway near the road, which is about 70m from the slab. This is where the future second metre box will be so it makes sense they have installed it there. I wonder if this means they have decided to put off digging the service trench until later in the build ![]() They have also been up and done the first of our site cleans and smoothed out the mess left by the plumber. My pretty slab now has black marks all over it ![]() Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Also, when I was up showing my slab off to KA on Sunday we discovered that a crack had appeared. I think some surface cracking is normal and not usually a cause for concern but not 100% sure. What do you guys think??? Gemmill homes are def a company we thought would be very good to build with but we have had nothing but issue after issue ... But I think it willl all just make you love your house that little bit more dhen its done!!... With the cracking in the slab ...I've definitely seen it before and heard it was completely normal ! Apparently its just the slab letting out some pressure !!! Crossing my fingers that they get their act together soon for you Re: Our custom Gemmill home in Bedfordale WA - SLABBED!!!!!! 880Dec 15, 2012 11:34 am SB it is normal, any issues are when the crack is more than 1mm wide & raised. 1mm or more should be watched for 12mths to see if it moves anymore. This is the issue we have atm,a similar crack that we wonder if we "should" watch ![]() ![]() ![]() I have a link in my thread to the HIA site which explains it all if you wontta check it out. We dont wont to cover it over & has "possible" prob later, but we also wont floor coverings! Block bought 1st RBC X! 2nd Ventrua,Keeper!
