Re: Our custom Gemmill home in Bedfordale WA - Final Plans 390Jul 20, 2012 3:31 pm oh mollyapple you make me laugh starting date.... whats that?? I'm building one of those houses that we talk about for what seems likes years and it never actually gets built Geez, I'm getting sarcastic in my old age! Nope no news yet. We did get a letter telling us that our file was now with the scheduling department and that scheduling takes 3-4 weeks BUT that it won't be completed until all approvals have been received. Our building application has been with council for 2 weeks now so if they approve within 25 working days like they are supposed to we could be looking at a start date in 6-7 weeks. When I spoke to council to check if our application was lodged I was told it will take 50-70 days because they always have to request more information and this starts the clock all over again. I also seriously doubt that scheduling will only take 3-4 weeks, since everything to date has taken double the time we've been told, so a more realistic start date is probably 3-4 months away Our custom Gemmill Home in Bedfordale WA Build thread:https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=53788 Timeline on page 1 Re: Our custom Gemmill home in Bedfordale WA - Final Plans 391Jul 20, 2012 4:09 pm Oh......I thought it was a couple of weeks away. I thought it would be all go after final plans or do these people not want your $$$$$ Must be old age in my part as we have finally come to the end of all the stuff ups and drama, only 8 months after hand over Re: Our custom Gemmill home in Bedfordale WA - Final Plans 392Jul 20, 2012 4:17 pm mollyapple I thought it would be all go after final plans or do these people not want your $$$$$ You would think they would want to move as quickly as possible so they start getting some money but it doesn't seem to bother them This builder doesn't make you part with as much money early on as the last one, to date we have only paid $2k deposit and don't make another one until slab down so I am surprised they don't try to hurry things along. mollyapple Must be old age in my part as we have finally come to the end of all the stuff ups and drama, only 8 months after hand over Does that mean everything is sorted? Is your render all fixed in the right colour? There are a few bits that need fixing but we will do ourselves, mainly as the maintenance guy never came back after his only visit in April. Its just too hard, maybe thats what they want. There is a new house round the corner being built by our builder - saw the sign yesterday when I drove past. First thought was "good luck , you are going to need it!" Mentioned it to my neighbours, who also built with the same company and they thought the same thing Have been watching a RedInk house being built over the past 7 months, pass it on the way to work - the site is so neat and tidy, compared the mess ours was left in. Their tradies must have pride with the work. Re: Our custom Gemmill home in Bedfordale WA - Final Plans 394Jul 20, 2012 4:44 pm Glad to hear that the render is all ok now. I saw a sign from your builder a few weeks ago and had the same thought as you Talking about signs, we haven't got one yet The last builder stuck one up before we'd even signed the contracts but this one doesn't seem to be in any hurry. Maybe it'll be one of those signs on the temporary power box so we won't get one until things actually get under way Our custom Gemmill Home in Bedfordale WA Build thread:https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=53788 Timeline on page 1 Re: Our custom Gemmill home in Bedfordale WA - Final Plans 395Jul 20, 2012 5:09 pm Probably can't afford to put one up if you have paid $2k Re: Our custom Gemmill home in Bedfordale WA - Final Plans 396Jul 20, 2012 5:15 pm Hahaha probably I found it strange that they combine the "contract" payment with the "slab down" but didn't complain of course! We only paid $2k until slab down. It took them about a year from walking into the display home to actually having slab down so they got nothing more from us! I'm pretty sure we also got a tap, then a sign! I think the other company are not in the norm in both aspects! Hopefully it won't be 3-4 months for you to start. Re: Our custom Gemmill home in Bedfordale WA 398Jul 22, 2012 1:17 pm OMG can't believe I missed this!! SB, your plans are amazing and well and truly worth the wait!
