Re: The Eldora by Bazdaric Prestige - Driveway Done :o) 315Aug 22, 2012 12:35 pm Hey guys, Both Brad and Joe, absolutely loving your houses. Expensive yes, but stunning. Great job both of you. Couple of questions, one for each of you. Brad, I'm renovating just about the whole house and its kitchen's turn now and Nordane is one of the companies we are looking at getting to do the job. We had Col out last week and we were happy with the way our conversation went. Found him to be quite informative, helpful in terms of giving us a few suggestions and overall seemed to know what he is talking about. We are still waiting for a more precise drawing of a proposed new kitchen from him and a quote of course, but the question i had for you is whether you were happy with their people and more importantly their work and if you know how much you paid for the kitchen alone? Joe, as mentioned above, lovely house. Really along the lines of how we would like our house to look like if we decided on building rather than renovating. We also went with (what it looks like) the same gas fireplace from Jetmaster (Heat & Glo 6000TRSI), but your mantel is much better and better looking than ours. One part of our renovation that is coming up after the kitchen is flooring and we are looking at 14mm strand-vowen carbonised (coffee colour) bamboo floor from UB Trading, see pictures of it below: http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid= ... =1&theater http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid= ... =1&theater http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid= ... =1&theater http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid= ... =1&theater I noticed you also have some kind of timber flooring in your new house, so I'm just wondering if you could provide some details such as what kind of timber flooring that is (including the name of the colour), the place you got it from, the price you paid including underlay and if you know the company/installer who put it in for you. Looking forward to seeing the pictures of both of your houses in (hopefully) the very near future. Cheers. Re: The Eldora by Bazdaric Prestige - Driveway Done :o) 316Aug 22, 2012 1:02 pm I found Nordane to be quite good in all respects. There were some hiccups but they were deal with professionally and in a timely manner. We made quite a few changes and they were very patient with us and understood our situation. I think due to our changes we may have created some of the hiccups but they were never rude nor did they try and blame us for the hiccups We have never built before and the kitchen we have now is quite small so we had no real idea on what a functional kitchen should look like. Due to this we left the design up to Nordane. The work i have seen so far appears to be quite good though i am yet to actually study it. I plan on doing that this weekend to ensure everything lines up and operates as i expect it to. Price, i dont really feel to comfortable discussing the cost of the kitchen as it has not been purchased directly through Nordane. All costs go through Bazdaric Homes and i do not know what arrangement they have between them. Having said that though i think it would be safe to say that any decent kitchen in todays market would cost between $20k and $30k depending on your selections. I figured that would be your answer but thought I'd ask anyway. I agree with your estimate as to how much it would cost, but only if that included the appliances. If that estimate does not include the appliances, then it is heading towards a bit of a steep price IMO. Thanks for the feedback mate. looking forward to the pictures of your new house when its all up and you are in it. Re: The Eldora by Bazdaric Prestige - Driveway Done :o) 318Aug 22, 2012 1:52 pm Thanks for understanding Price wise i am sure it could be done. Its just depends on wether you have expensive tastes. I still think you would be looking at the $30k mark though Its also very driven on the size of your kitchen. There is no colour to chose as its just the type. Every batch will slightly vary in colour No idea on price or the company as this was an inclusion. Not much mate..appliances still to go in and minor paint touch ups...hopefully we get the keys Friday Bazdaric Prestige - Donna Lea V2 There is no reason why building contract reconciliation cannot be done prior to handover, if the builder won't do it get someone to do it for you.
