Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jan 18, 2012 11:59 am I have been searching everywhere. But i cant seem to find the old fashioned clothes poles you hang a rope between. I think there is nothing more satisfying than sheets blowing in the wind on an old fashioned line. Sad i know Something like this http://www.amazon.co.uk/Bakaware-Line-Post-Split-Pole/dp/B0016UU2BK/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1326851808&sr=8-2 Anyone any idea where i can find this sort of thing? My grandmother had one like that. She used to 'hoist' the line with a 'Y' shaped stick. She then pulled the stick out to lower it to bring the washing in. Oh the memories!!! Re: I really want a traditional clothesline 9Jan 18, 2012 6:26 pm My Dad made my Mum one in their previous house. It ran the length of their grassed area so was around 10m in length and had six strings - so she could hang sooooo much washing out it wasnt funny. She loved seeing all the washing floating in the sky way up high. She didn't need a pole however as Dad had a chain looped on each end. So you pulled the chain down and it would bring down one side at a time. Some things are worth waiting for. Re: I really want a traditional clothesline 10Feb 16, 2012 4:22 pm What about the one from Hills that can be attached to the wall - the website says you can get two posts and have it away from the house - has anyone done that, please? We once had a fod out one - the wind caught it, so it unlatched and the washing was hanging down to the dirt do not pay until you are satisfied with workmanship windows require flashing over the head archithrave and up under weatherboards 3 28288 traditional gable roof facade - Have you did the dark and light gray color combination in facade with gray stone in facade… 0 4214 I would be wary.
