Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jan 15, 2012 7:09 pm Hi all, finally found a question where I couldn't find the answer on this fantastic forum. I've been browsing it for months and have found it a great resource! I'm looking to purchase a house and land package in carrum downs and have found one that we like however... The price seems significantly inflated over what they quote to build the house on your own land (by $50000!!). I'm guessing that site costs are a part of this but would there be extra padding so that they can negotiate. He hasn't wanted to talk down the price at all. I would have thought that in this climate that builders would negotiate a little or through in some freebies. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thank you all in advance!
