I confirmed we will have FTTH before laying down dollar 1. I will have to empathise with you on that one Dave, copper sucks.
Hi HeathWilD,
Where are you building? Are you building in Eden Brae's white Gum Ridge?

Are you building in Eden Brae's white Gum Ridge? Yep Re: Anyone else building in North Kellyville? 323Sep 30, 2013 4:37 pm HeathWilD Yep That's good to know that we on the same development area. Are you on the stage 2 development? We're on the 1st stage, ours is one of the blocks just in front of Barry road, along the display house that's currently standing there. I think yours should go smoothly after settlement as everything on the area is already set. Ours had a bit of a delay on the developer approval but its going now just waiting for the start date this time.. Yep we are stage 2 up on white gum place, land is booked for settlement this Friday, all of our colour selections are done, waiting for the last of the PCV's to come through from EBH and developer approval to come through. We are hoping for a December site start date. Ideally slab before christmas, let it rest for a few weeks then go, go, go! When is your site start? There are a couple of other people from white gum ridge on the forum and one from the castle haven side as well that I know of. I find the different developers requirements quite funny, when you look at New Rouse Hill where it is one large developer and the infrastructure and requirements are the same for all houses. Nth Kellyville where there are small blocks by independent deveopers there seems to be a lot of variability between each deveoper especially between the Hezlett rd side and the smalls creek side. I know some of this is from the DCP requirements but we have to have a 4000L tank when the DCP only requires 3000L for the Barry rd side? This is a developer requirement and probably has more to do with him saving money on infrastructure than being an environmental reason....Am still waiting to see if we get FTA TV down the fibre like Telstra Velocity or if we need to put up an antenna as apparently this is up to the developer to decide and pay for... Re: Anyone else building in North Kellyville? 327Sep 30, 2013 10:41 pm I would imagine you need an antenna for FTA TV. The rebroadcast tech for developers is probably not worth it in that scale at all. NBNco leave the decision up to the developer as it requires extra equip upstream of the estate...the reason for my confusion is that my builder and their electrical contractor have different information.... We're still waiting for confirmation for the start date, it should be within this month. FTA TV will be great, that will save me from installing antennae, just don't want to add more to the long list of work that i have to do after handover. =) Re: Anyone else building in North Kellyville? 330Oct 01, 2013 8:55 am HeathWilD daveinthehills I would imagine you need an antenna for FTA TV. Indeed, I am familiar with velocity, but you are in a pure NBNco area, so you should fall under the vanilla wholesale->retail structure. Only other option is to find an NBN Co ISP that does IPTV over NBN. IPTV is one of the big applications for NBN that people don't really talk about, and I'm hoping ISPs can work out the licensing and infrastructure to make it happen. Other than that, you need an antenna. The only reason I am fairly sure about this is that NBN should be building an exchange of sorts on Barry Rd. I have been watching it closely. http://www.mynbn.info/gf/AYCA-LHCGL I'm hoping they run the fibre from that exchange down to us in Hezlett, as I don't see them coming any other way any time soon Re: Anyone else building in North Kellyville? 331Oct 01, 2013 9:13 am daveinthehills You are most likely correct, just wish that the people who should know i.e. the people I am giving the money to, could confirm....Looks like all work has stalled until GOV can figure out what they want to do....and get new people to run NBNco after the top end exodus... Terrible that Hezlett rd doesn't have FTTH I can imagine your frustration and hope it gets sorted. Re: Anyone else building in North Kellyville? 332Oct 01, 2013 10:37 am Hi all, bit of a newbie at all of this but looking to purchase land in North Kellyville and hoping from some guidance from you all. We're currently close to the city but looking at various plots around Barry Rd, Gardener's Ridge etc. Not being from the area I'm after some advice on the north/east/west facing block decision that you all went through. Pros/cons etc. Does north facing backyard trump all or can east/west facing be just as good? Most of the streets in North Kellyville run slightly North-West with the blocks facing South-West or North-East. This generally means your backyard and private open space will either have a shadow in the morning (Western side of the road) or late afternoon (Eastern side of the road). However there are a few streets running South-West which will have North-West or South-East facing blocks. Personally if I had the choice (at no extra cost) I would choice a North-West facing block or a block on the Western side of the road with my main living areas towards the rear to make the most of that 3pm onwards sun. So far we have selected our design, paid initials deposits and just had our tender presentation with Eden Brae. We have been told that start date is February. Exciting times ahead..... Re: Anyone else building in North Kellyville? 337Oct 04, 2013 8:37 am We're also on the 8 Curtis Road set of lots! We're lot 721 and we were flying when our solicitors told us it had finally registered. We haven't finalized the decision on which builder to go with, but we fell in love with a Masterton Home - Santorini Entertainer 41. It's good to see some of our future neighbours and see that it wasn't just us waiting forever for registration. Telstra velocity is now being offered wholesale to ISPs. In The New Rouse Hill you can now sign up with Internode and Exetel. I am unsure of others. Whilst I wait for my house build to finish I am trying to convince iinet to offer their service through telstra velocity ( I like their freezone for Apple TV movies ). They are kinda helping by passing on my suggestion to internode ( owned by iinet ) to make their freezone as good as iinets.
