Cheers Jimbo. Re: Scaffolding 2Aug 10, 2006 4:05 pm Yes, the hidden costs of building...welcome to my world! You could easily spend $10,000 for scaffold on a two storey 300 square metre home - that add up to an easy $33.00 per metre without adding anything to the building that will remain.
Short answer, no, there are no cheap options and yes it is very expensive but the only way to go is to get a few quotes and see if you can't beat them down a bit. They have you where it hurts because you are not allowed to even do any of it yourself - only qualified scaffolders can erect, modify and dismantle. Good luck!
