Thank you! What a compliment!
we are also thinking buy the lights and let the builder to install them
how much does your builder charge you to install the light??
love your entrance and stair lights.
i think the stair light is a must have.
Thank you - it was only a small amount, I think it was something like $20 a fitting?
If I remember correctly from a while ago - you weren't expecting the bulkhead in the lounge originally were you? Even so, I think it looks great - kind of a feature of the room! The builder told us early on that our 'lounge' area would have a dropped ceiling due to plumbing needs. I'm kind of glad that it will be there though, adds a bit of variation to the open living area and hopefully breaks up the space a little.
Sorry for the huge post.. I'm truly loving seeing your house come to life and am excited for you both!
Thank you! I don't think the lights cost anything extra, I think they were there from the start!
Nope - the bulkhead was news to us. Same deal, have to have one to accommodate the plumbing. I was a bit annoyed at first because I didn't want one and noone had mentioned it until it was time to put it in. Now I'm really happy, I do think that it adds to the room. I wanted something symmetrical rather than one dropped section, so I'm glad it worked out how it did.
I appreciate the enthusiasm! We are excited too!
Thanks DCT! I need to catch up on your thread.. haven't looked at many for a while!
Oh yeah, I have spreadsheets galore. A few things just took me by surprise. We'll be OK but I was hoping to have more left over. Never mind. We have been careful not to over-mortgage ourselves so that we will still have room to save money again while we are paying off the house if we need something.
Hahaha! I'm not even sure I can take credit for the idea... it's possible they were already in the plans.. I can't remember if I asked for them or if we just got them!
everything goes well on schedule?
Yes, it seems the house will be handed over to us on Friday!!!
Thank you 1rocky, bradster181 and kaykens - welcome - appreciate your comments
