Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jan 05, 2012 8:29 am Hi I am interested in buying a trapezium land with following dimensions Front 16.3, rear 25, one side 34, other side 30. would any builder be happy to build on such land or i will waste a lot of land? And also this land is on a quite a high side of the street, with front sloping to the street. Does it costs a lot more to build on the high side of the road. (Sorry I have never built, so might be asking quite basic questions) Thanks in advance Mamta Re: Trapezium Land 2Jan 05, 2012 8:54 am Mamtas, Welcome to the forum In regards to that shape block, you shouldnt have any problems, as long as the frontage of the house fits across the front, this could be a problem for a triple garage but if you only want a double garage most designs would fit. To make use of the land I would probably look at having some outdoor living space to the side of the house to make good use of the side/back space, I am not sure where you are building so it could make a difference to the answer about the slope from front to back, any slope more than 1m will cost you more to build regardless of whether it is front to back, back to front or side to side. You will need to allow for retaining walls and drop edge beams which can add to the cost depending on size of slope, good luck Re: Trapezium Land 3Jan 05, 2012 9:52 am hi mamtas, have a look at my thread. I think ours is classed as a trapezium? but our left hand side is straight Front 10.25 LHS 35.5 Back 28.10 RHS 43.5m it has the house layout on it. We had to make sure the garage and entertainment are on opposite sides of the house to utilise the space we have Yeah I don't know why I came to a forum. Place is full of wierdos/pedos thought internet may help but I suppose I'll try my luck with someone in person. Cheers. I tried… 0 6445 Need advice on the backyard plan above. Should I excavate and cut all of the dirt to level with the house slab or semi-excavate as per photo above? Both left and right… 0 24872 13 6632 |
