Hi all,
I have a bit of a problem - however i am unsure if this is a normal issue or if i should be complaining - so feel free to put me in my place if that's what's needed.
Ok, i am building a house with a large and reputable building company. I signed on in mid January, submitted my plans to council and paid my deposit, and was told that titles were only a few days away and that i should have a house by September. It is now mid June, i have no titles as yet, the plans have been submitted to council 3 times, i have no pre start date, let alone an actual start date, my Pre Approval for my mortgage is due to run out in 5 weeks. My main problem however, is that every time i have a question for my sales rep, i send an email, get a 'read reciept' but never a response. It takes me ringing up 2 weeks after my email to ask if he still works there before he sends back a reply.
I was hoping that after signing on to spend over a quarter of a million bucks with these guys, that they could at least keep me in the loop with what's going on.
Is this normal that i have to chase the guy for a simple yes or no answer?
Is it also normal that it takes 6 months and still not have a pre start date? its not like i'm building Buckingham Palace - its just a simple 180 square meter 3x2.. the plans had already been approved by council and then got sent back because of the 6 star energy rating buisiness.
Again, i know that there can be hold ups, but is it normal for them to never ring or email to let you know what's going on with your house?
Any advice would be great.
thanks.
