Looks like everyone is just about finished. Roadrage hope your not too far behind!!! Still not sure is I understand all this NBN stuff. If you have wireless computers surely you dont need lots of data points or am I completely wrong. We have a wireless printer also. Re: Avonlee Henley Brook Perth 2257Jun 10, 2013 9:53 am Congrats Smile - finally hey! Welcome to the hood. Mel hope it works out for you, I spent the weekend wiring the data throughout my house. Basically what I did was wire a data point in the garage and ran it to where my router would be (linen cupboard) So the NBN tech will install the NBN box in the garage and I will plug in from their box to the data point there, which takes it to the linen. From the linen cupboard I ran cat6 to the points in the house I want a hard wired internet connection, so I put a couple in the activity and theatre. Also had to wire a powerpoint in the linen cupboard for the router. Data tested everything and it all worked, installation is tomorrow hoping it all works out easily. I am assuming the data point you mentioned may be a phone point that they have wired up. I want to get one in the garage so I can connect the nbn box straight to it and have the modem in the study Re: Avonlee Henley Brook Perth 2259Jun 10, 2013 10:17 am Hmm okay, maybe they have coiled up the data in the roof space for the NBN guys - but they will only do their box and the rest is up to client, so if Q wants to get up in the roof above the study where that data point is, he might see some loose data cabling sitting there - you can use that and run it to the garage and install a data point there, then the nbn box plugs into that which goes to your study but dont take my word for it i havent seen it! lol Oct 10 - Council Approval Oct 23 - Site scrape Oct 29 - Footings and Prelay OCT 30 - Slabbed Nov 6 - Bricks Delivered Nov 13 - Brickwork started Re: Avonlee Henley Brook Perth 2260Jun 11, 2013 11:51 am We got our box installed this morning - i am not at home to check it out but the OH is, apparently just waiting for the update light to start flashing on the NTD and then once that has stopped we can try connecting our bob lite up. pretty excited cant wait to go chekc it out!
