Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Avonlee Henley Brook Perth 2133May 28, 2013 10:43 am Is it necessary for us to have the NBN box installed before iinet can do their thing? The guy I spoke to on the phone was very helpful but unfortunately wasnt too knowledgable on the technical details, sorry to pick your brains haha Oct 10 - Council Approval Oct 23 - Site scrape Oct 29 - Footings and Prelay OCT 30 - Slabbed Nov 6 - Bricks Delivered Nov 13 - Brickwork started Re: Avonlee Henley Brook Perth 2134May 28, 2013 10:51 am Nope, it goes hand in hand actually. So NBN wont do anything unless and ISP place an order. Which you now have. 1) Order by iiNet, tells the NBN to get out there and do the install. Drilling, pulling the fibre through conduit etc. 2) At the same time, they will setup an account for you and once the NBN has done their bit on the 11th, they will turn it on and start billing from that date. Sit back and wait but have a think about getting everything ready for when the internet arrives. For example we spent $4000 on smart wiring but that doesnt include a $80 switch to make every data port in the house connected to the internet. Did you have data/Ethernet ports in your house already? Re: Avonlee Henley Brook Perth 2135May 28, 2013 10:52 am bleh24, can I uses the same number as Daedalus. Or do I need a different one? 10 constable street? Re: Avonlee Henley Brook Perth 2136May 28, 2013 10:58 am Oh thanks for the explanation, really appreciate your help. I dont have any data points in the house at the moment, but i have plenty of conduit which i will run some cat6e through. i only want 4 points in the house really. i am assuming these points can be plugged straight into my router Oct 10 - Council Approval Oct 23 - Site scrape Oct 29 - Footings and Prelay OCT 30 - Slabbed Nov 6 - Bricks Delivered Nov 13 - Brickwork started Re: Avonlee Henley Brook Perth 2138May 28, 2013 11:03 am Daedalus Oh thanks for the explanation, really appreciate your help. You will need to connect the router to the NBN box, so one of the sockets on the router will be in use by that, so with most routers that would leave you with 3 usable sockets. Have a think about where the NBN box will go, as once its installed its there and cant be moved. This is the place where the router will go as well. Re: Avonlee Henley Brook Perth 2139May 28, 2013 11:04 am bleh24 Dargonk, yours will be LOC000135364867, I just wanted to be sure it worked on one. Thanks for that. Time to call iinet Hi, If you give a set of criteria as to what means 'good' to you, it'll give others prompts to respond. We considered Henley early on but there were two factors that… 1 10440 I am not sure whether Perth has its own way of doing things in regards to this. Most of Perth has class A (sandy soil), except for some areas near rivers or hills. 2 13053 1 10997 |
