Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Apr 05, 2020 1:08 am Landscape / Retail wall plan for side to side sloping block? Hi we are on a block which has a 2m side slope across 20m width. We contacted a few landscaper with sitting map, sewer report, contour report etc but no-one is even interested to give us any specific information based on the slope. Everyone is saying “come back after building is up”. Is there any One j to find out how to flatten the yard to make one level? any ideas? Your house slab level is 20.415 and the right hand side is around 21.2ish so you are looking at 785mm cut. Depends your local council but generally you dont need council approval for retaining wall under 1m in height and this would apply to your right hand side. Question is .... what is your intention with the dirt you removed. Probably best to fill it on the LHS half way in where it's a bit steep compare to the rest of the block. The half of house slab will need 515mm cut and the other half 515mm fill. The retaining on the RHS border I was told will be under 600mm height but well need to see. I dunno how to utilize the soil but would love to fill half way at the LHS and retain that bit only, leaving the rest of the LHS area as the current ground level!! Give Jonathan a call. Tell him you know me. He is in my opinion the best surveyor I have ever worked with.
