Ekkkk...not nice when that happens. Maybe offer to pay for his time if you don't use him.
At least he wont then hate you when you tell him you won't be using him even though he thought you were.....
I hate those situations.
Good luck

Wood above the portico still needs another stain. Garage door looks dark because it's in the shade but it's actually a pretty good match to the front door. http://i1235.photobucket.com/albums/ff435/RuthnPhil/image006.jpg Walk-In wardrobe complete except for drawer handles. This shows DH's side - mine is exactly the same + I get the vanity & drawers . Camera angle makes it look a little cramped - it feels much bigger when you're in there! http://i1235.photobucket.com/albums/ff435/RuthnPhil/P1040499.jpg My beautiful kitchen bench with apron ends http://i1235.photobucket.com/albums/ff435/RuthnPhil/P1040507.jpg And finally - I got my flush mount sink They've done a really good job and it's exactly flush except a minor bit in one of the "back" corners where the sink wasn't quite square. You can't see it but can feel a minor ridge when you run your hand over it. http://i1235.photobucket.com/albums/ff435/RuthnPhil/P1040506.jpg SS says that if everything runs on time (including the council inspection) then we are good for hand-over on 22nd. However he has warned it could slip a few days which is OK because our lease runs until 3rd July. That sink is beautiful, lucky you obviously got a good stonemason, I love the flush mount sinks they just look so beautiful, Re: Our Sea-change Adventure - Tiling Photos update 207Jun 13, 2012 7:43 pm oh wow, that is one sexy roof! looks amazing, kitchen looks great, nice choice of door to what i assume is the walk in pantry. it goes really well - what paint did you use? Re: Our Sea-change Adventure - Tiling Photos update 208Jun 13, 2012 7:51 pm Thanks everyone, we're delighted so far. Thanks alt016, we love the roof line. Yes it is the pantry door; the kitchen cabinets are 2 Pac Dulux China White and the whole of the rest of the house is Wattyl Slk Moth including the gloss on all the doors. We nearly had a disaster on the interior paint but our darling SS let us change it after the first coat. How long is that island bench? We will have flush mount blanco sink. Nice to actually see a flush mount sink installed. Have you got a close up pic of your floor tiles. Really like the colour of them. Re: Our Sea-change Adventure - Tiling Photos update 212Jun 13, 2012 9:43 pm Ruth, are you having a water filter tap? Is that what the second hole is for? We had to confirm position of ours today and were advised outer corner - do you think that will look weird? Build Thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=43846 Re: Our Sea-change Adventure - Tiling Photos update 213Jun 13, 2012 10:04 pm Hi Nina. Yes and no. Our kitchen tap is actually a combined mains and filter tap - one spout but a pin handle on each side dependingon which water you want and has a filter cartridge under the sink. The other hole is for a soap dispenser - I do like to have soap immediately to hand but didn't want something that looked like clutter around the sink. I didn't really have time to think about where that should go - it was a rush decision when the SS called me a couple of days ago. Hope it will be ok where it is and that it's not too close to the tap. We had a separate water filter tap at our last place and it was at the back of the sink in line with but not too close to the main tap. That worked fine for us. Decisions decisions - they seem to go on and on! The bench is 2.7m long. Getting a flushmount was quite a saga. Initially the stonemason used by our builder refused. We looked at getting it through a different stone mason but it was just too expensive. So I left it and left it and then once the SS told us they were about to start the stone cut I actually went to see the stonemason and they agreed to do it. Did a happy dance in the car park. This photo of the floor tile is a bit misleading - it's not as browny grey as it looks, it's actually got a greener tinge to it. There's a truer picture on page 2 of my thread. It's called Lappato Veinstone Beige and is 600x 600. Our building thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=53911 Re: Our Sea-change Adventure - Tiling Photos update 217Jun 14, 2012 7:11 pm All sorts of things going on today. - Wardrobe doors fitted - shower screens installed - oven installed - schweigen rangehood part installed - ceiling fans installed - GPOs and light switches just about finished - internal and front door handles fitted ( pantry door handle decision was a stressful one ) - towel rails & toilet roll holders fitted - magnetic doorstops fitted - boxing done for external concrete Guess what, the bath ...................................... is still in the bedroom. Main things left are for the electrician to finish the appliance installs and the plumber to finish installing all the taps, the bath and the rainwater and hot water tanks. Also the cabinet maker to finish off lots of outstanding things in kitchen and bathrooms and the mirrors to be installed. Then clean (scheduled for Monday) then walk-around ( our builder doesnt call it PCI) then all the touch ups, then carpets then handover.Wow that's a lot still to happen before hand-over, not sure we'll make handover next Friday. I'm at work but DH tells me that the bath has been in then out then in again. Not sure on the latest. All the taps are in but because of the large filter unit on the kitchen tap we have had to lose the shelf under the sink. No big deal. Mirrors are also in but they missed that the mirroring the powder room should be on both corner walls so will hopefully get that next week. Electricians are having major fun and games trying to install the Schweigen rangehood. I'm so glad we put the install in the contract and made them include the words "install in line with manufacturers recommendations". 1 week to go just hope they get everything done as we have all sorts of post handover things planned for the following week including moving in Our Homebuilding Thread 17th Nov - 1st meeting with PJB architect 27th Feb - Signed contract 23rd Mar - Plans approved 3rd Apr - Slab laid 18th Apr - Roof On 10th May - Lock-up 26th June - Handover Re: Our Sea-change Adventure - 1 week to go 219Jun 15, 2012 7:02 pm Wow it really is all go now!!! Think your flush mount sink looks brilliant, I haven't seen one before. WOW!! Re: Our Sea-change Adventure - 1 week to go 220Jun 15, 2012 9:13 pm Wow, is it really only one week to go??? We need some more pics after all that progress over the past couple of days, don't forget please!! And I agree with Greenfish, I have really fallen for your flush mount (having never seen one before) and think it would have been a far safer option for us (one quite clumsy DH in our household!). Some of the PSA money goes to engineering so we at least got those documents and they actually refunded us… 2 4564 Hi, you've probably already resolved this, however, Commbank will probably pay the funds to you after you send evidence the work is done regardless the change in the quotes. 1 31784 5 7321 |
