Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Building in Iluka WA 23Mar 31, 2012 9:08 pm Definitely build up if you can, that would be awesome! Double stories are coming down in price these days too, I am sure you could find something suitable. Who have you considered so far? I think broadway are pretty reasonable!?! Re: Building in Iluka WA 24Apr 01, 2012 11:10 pm Yeah we pretty much 100% that we are now going double storey. We had friends look at our block and area to see what they think and all of them agree that we should go double storey. I've now decided that I want a pool and a spa so need more room in our backyard, hee hee. So far we are looking at APG, Broadway, Ultimate and Webb&BrownNeaves. Re: Building in Iluka WA 28Apr 11, 2012 5:18 pm Maybe I should get people to vote! Looks like WBN would be in the winning position currently. No we haven't decided yet but I really hope we can afford to build with WBN (the Pearl in the White series is nice). With Easter, school holidays, my husband's 40th birthday and my husband working 6 days a week for the next three weeks we are going to give it a bit of a break. We will start meeting with some of the building companies then to discuss plans, $$$$$ etc. However, we have decided that we want the 3 minor bedrooms upstairs and the master bedroom downstairs and because of that we will have the upper floor cement. Re: Building in Iluka WA 29Apr 13, 2012 4:13 pm Settlement went through 11.30am today - so yay we are proud owners of the block now just in time for my hubby's 40th birthday on Sunday! I notice you said you had some addresses to look at, my friend only mentioned display homes in Ellenbrook and Bunbury. Do you have any addresses in addition to these for a driveby to look at the finished product with Kingston bricks?? Many thanks for your help! We have met up with Next Residential (new Aveling/Zorzi two storey building company) and they are trying to do a custom design for us within our budget as we have found it a bit difficult to find a plan (that I like within our budget) to suit our block 22.5 wide x 31 long so anyway we will met up with them on Monday give them some feedback on the design they have properly sketched up and then they will cost it up for us so lets hope it's within our budget! Re: Re: Building in Iluka WA - Still deciding on Builders/Pl 36May 18, 2012 7:13 pm Ohhh I just looked at their website and they have some lovely designs! Fingers crossed their plans for you guys turn out perfect, be fun to be building at nearly the same time;) Re: Re: Building in Iluka WA - Feedback on plan please 37May 24, 2012 9:05 pm This is one of the plans we are looking at - any feedback is welcome. Note we are changing the upstairs ensuite shower to hobless (no shower screen for me to clean) so they are going to redesign that for me. I apologise for the quality but I had to take a photos as we only have hard copies of it so far. Just wondering what the front of the house looks like with the second storey set that far back, would love to see a pic if you have one, and also the only thing that caught my eye was the size of the bath in the main bathroom. I can't tell if it's a small bath or if because the house is so big it just looks small I love the extra powder room by the alfresco, that's genius. I also like the generous wardrobes to the bedrooms, and think the flow is really nice. You've got everything you could possibly want in the one home which is what you wanted so I think you guys and the designer have done a great job!! p.s. doesn't hobless mean you'll have more glass to clean?? Re: Re: Building in Iluka WA - Feedback on plan please 39May 25, 2012 12:24 pm Yes it is a small bath which I thought might be a bit odd? but I'd rather a small bath than a small shower and plus it's only for the kids (I won't be getting in it). I do have a copy (I'll dig it out) but changing the elevation as didn't like it but basically it will look like a single storey from the front - I didn't really think that would matter do you? But the reason it has been set back so far is to make sure we can get the view. We will go up to the block on the weekend with a tape measure to sort of get an idea of it all. We added the extra toilet as we are thinking at the back behind the house we would have the pool & spa area so easy access to the toilet. Maybe I should of been a bit clearer regarding the shower as I meant one of these showers http://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=31292 Re: Re: Building in Iluka WA - Feedback on plan please 40May 25, 2012 6:17 pm Ok here's the elevation (couldn't work out which photo was clearer) - Anyone have any thoughts??? http://i1067.photobucket.com/albums/u436/NatsyPatsy78/Iluka%20House/P1030658.jpg http://i1067.photobucket.com/albums/u436/NatsyPatsy78/Iluka%20House/P1030661.jpg I recently went through a similar renovation and move scenario when updating our family home. We also swapped some rooms around and tackled a major… 2 9755 No. It's not original. Circa early to mid 90s would be my guess and maybe even as late as early 2000s 1 6623 2 4657 |
