Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Re: Building in Iluka WA - Feedback on plan please 41May 26, 2012 1:25 pm Hi Natsy, Your house looks amazing, the only thing i would be worried about is the entrance were bedroom 2's BIR sticks out into the passage, it might make it very narrow and take away from the grandeur of the home when people come through your front door....Other then that everything is perfect...... your elevation looks awesome Re: Re: Building in Iluka WA - Feedback on plan please 42May 27, 2012 11:07 am Hey Natsy. Elevation is great. Definitely different to anything I have seen before! What a view from the Master suite! Not a bath person eh? I must admit I love a good soak so that's why it probably caught my eye:) What are your favourite and not so favourite bits? I notice that you're not getting a lot of feedback which is a shame (apart from the lovely Mary of course who helps everyone!!). Seems like we need more people building in Iluka as people are tending to post based on location or builder for some reason! BTW I saw the landscaping and I LOVE it. I have two norfolk pines across from me and am so excited. I was worried they were going to go with grass trees like they have along the beach road as they are so messy! But no, instead we have Christmas trees, yay!!!! Re: Re: Building in Iluka WA - Feedback on plan please 43May 27, 2012 1:35 pm Oh yeah I do like a good soak in the bath (don't get time these days with my time little ones) but I gathered since we will eventually have a spa I thought I'll be soaking in there instead I was a bit worried about the entrance bit with the robe sticking out like Mary said but my husband likes it as he wants the TV on wall shown so he can see the TV from when your in the kitchen and thinks as you walk in the entrance it will block out seeing the TV with all the cords etc - what do you think? The entrance is 1.1m as is or without robe is 1.6m. I also hope that the kitchen is big enough and we have enough storage? I gathered no one was posting about my plan due to the fact it's awesome and no one can fault it - ha ha ha I thought you might like the tree's as you love Christmas so much! Re: Re: Building in Iluka WA - Feedback on plan please 44May 27, 2012 7:57 pm I like your thinking Natsy Of course it's because the house is perfect! I had a second look at the entrance and while I can see what Mary is saying I think it's also nice to have the wall there to create a nook for the TV cabinetry. Also, Feng Shui wise apparently it's good to break up any straight lines directly from the front door (don't know if that makes any difference to you but my sister in law is Chinese and she points these things out to me all the time ) Are you getting any good bonuses with your builder?? Re: Re: Building in Iluka WA - Feedback on plan please 45May 28, 2012 2:31 pm I'll let my husband know about the Feng Shui aspect of the entrance passageway as maybe his subconscious his telling him this (he's half Chinese). We are still waiting for the costings to come back and then we will negotiate on some things so not sure yet what they might "throw in". Re: Re: Building in Iluka WA - Feedback on plan please 47Jun 18, 2012 11:04 am NatsyPatsy78 This is one of the plans we are looking at - any feedback is welcome. Note we are changing the upstairs ensuite shower to hobless (no shower screen for me to clean) so they are going to redesign that for me. I apologise for the quality but I had to take a photos as we only have hard copies of it so far. Have you considered moving the entry to the audio/visual room further down (opposite study entry) and having a door where the entry narrows ( near bed 2 robe) ? It allows you to close off and define the entry-and will give you more useable corners in the audio/visual room.... As for an update there really isn't any - haven't finalised anything and keep changing my mind with what I want. Re: NatsyPatsy78 Build in Iluka - still not chosen builder y 49Jul 14, 2012 7:35 pm Ok the plan I previously posted we have scrapped as we couldn't agree on the price and gone to another builder. We are pretty sure we are going to go with them (it's a bit over our budget but I'm so in love with the design - eeeek) but just waiting on some changes and costing so we might actually start building in the near future NatsyPatsy78 Build in Iluka - still not chosen builder yet! 51Jul 18, 2012 12:03 am Yes I'm back our modem broke and we could only get a modem from Telstra but when we ordered it they sent the wrong one and couldn't use it etc but anyway it's all sorted after a very long time and yay to having proper internet back! Will upload the plans once we receive the updated plans and negotiate a price that we can live with. Your house is powering along leighlou - your going to get an awesome view! See another residential 101 has started down the hill, can't wait to see that one started. Re: NatsyPatsy78 Build in Iluka - still not chosen builder y 52Jul 18, 2012 5:34 pm Who's your builder now?? I went past our block this morning and was intrigued to hear (from you) that there was another 101 in the area so drove down the street looking. I saw the red box BUT on closer inspection it was a Redink. Was getting all excited about forming a 101 neighbourhood fan club From looks of other blocks the 'hood favourite so far is Ross North! NatsyPatsy78 Build in Iluka - still not chosen builder yet! 53Jul 18, 2012 6:18 pm Oh my bad I thought it was 101, sorry to get you all excited! The red posts look the same although must admit I didn't look too closely (obvisiously). Yes I've seen a few Ross North posts around too. Can't wait for some more houses around us to start building. Spoke to the couple that own the block across from me a couple of weeks back and they are building the Manhatten from DAH. My 4 year old keeps asking me when a house is going to grow on our block - too cute, sometimes. We are currently talking to Beaumonde so hopefully they come through for us. Re: NatsyPatsy78 Build in Iluka - still not chosen builder y 54Jul 31, 2012 12:51 pm Wait for it but we have finally signed up with a builder last night after many many many months of negotiating with different builders trying to get the right plan for the right price. We have chosen to build with Beaumonde Homes. I'm just a bit excited that we have finally chosen and it will finally happen in the next 18 months (max time). This is the Atlantis plan we started with: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ And this is what we have ended up with but we have some changes to some windows, added a bulkhead between the study and theatre to allow ducting air con to those rooms and the penetrations for the ducting air con need to also be added to the drawings: Elevation and 3D Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Ground Floor Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Upper Floor Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ So now they do the survey and whatever else they do for the next 6/8 weeks and wait for them to come back to us about that and also wait for our file to be sent out to us. Eeeck I'm still a bit excited! Yesterday was a big day for us as we also ordered a new washing machine as the current one is very very sick. So can't wait for that to arrive tomorrow - Yay! Pg3 60Aug 28, 2012 3:10 pm I am not suprised how beautiful your new home looks considering Beaumonde Homes is building it How exciting I recently went through a similar renovation and move scenario when updating our family home. We also swapped some rooms around and tackled a major… 2 10033 No. It's not original. Circa early to mid 90s would be my guess and maybe even as late as early 2000s 1 6632 2 4680 |
