Browse Forums Building A New House NatsyPatsy78 has finally chosen a builder!!!!! Pg3 62Aug 29, 2012 12:01 am Thanks everyone, it took awhile for us to get us here. Nothing to report back yet still waiting on working drawings and the survey probably another month and a bit away until it goes into council etc NatsyPatsy78 has finally chosen a builder!!!!! Pg3 63Sep 11, 2012 8:23 pm We received our working drawings and our selection file just over a week ago and had our structural meeting last night. We deleted one of the windows at the front, made the two skinny windows at the front obscure glass, deleted the gas point in the family room thus the vent that went with it, changed the gas cooktop to induction, the way the sliding door opens in the family room, changed the windows in the family room so we can put a tv on the wall, reminded them the garage is suppose to be 31c not 30c (not sure how it would of looked considering the two front rooms are at 31c?), moved the paving at the front to the laundry side of the house (going to get aggregate for the front), moved the outside water provisions in the alfresco to the side of alfresco so we can put in an outdoor shower later, changed the balcony not to be bricked up towards the back and having vertical balistrating, changed the way the doors leading into the kitchen/family room swing, made sure the theatre doors had hinges that let them go all the way back to the wall. I think that was all. I just need to figure out how I'm going to have my kitchen as I want a 60cm wall oven not the 90cm one that's included. It's so hard I'm finding it quite difficult. I also have a 3.6m waterfall ends bench without a sink (which I like) but trying to work out where to put a power point? I don't like it when the power point is on the end of the waterfall end as what's the point of having the waterfall end and not sure about the pop up power points as what happens when something spills on your bench? Oh and I got really excited last Thursday when I drove to the block and they finally put a sign on there - it's a massive sign. Will have to post a pic later as currently on the iPad Re: NatsyPatsy78 update and what to do with my kitchen? 65Sep 13, 2012 11:17 pm Hi Natsy Patsy!! Very nice plan indeed!!! Looks like there is a lot of functional space!!! Are you having a set of draws in the island bench? I have seen a photo of someone who had their top draw fold down horizontally and had a power point hidden behind it! I'm sad I didn't see it early enough to do the same but will try to find the photo for you!! Jen Building with HomeGroupWA (started as Scott Park Homes ) - Grand Wisteria Check out my Build Thread!! I ended up not having any on my island bench, kept them along a wall in each corner. My island bench is the star,i will be mixing or such on my left side power point which is outta the way along the wall. The right side is where the kettle will be. I did remember seeing that photo somewhere but couldn't find it. I think I will do something like that and I did think maybe I would bump into it too Kerry-ann but I like it better than anything else anyone has suggested! Re: NatsyPatsy78 update and what to do with my kitchen? 70Sep 18, 2012 2:00 pm No problem! I would only have it for things I use temporarily like a cake mixer. If I had it for kettle I would bump into it too as it would be out all the time. I'm actually going to look at getting something like it retro fitted as I only found it after prestart and we have $500 vo charge to change anything! Re: NatsyPatsy78 update and what to do with my kitchen? 71Sep 18, 2012 2:28 pm Yes exactly the power point is only going to be for temporary things like my mixmaster or thermomix as I want nothing on my bench top permanently. I'll be putting my kettle and toaster on one of the other benches. Re: NatsyPatsy78 update and what to do with my kitchen? 72Sep 18, 2012 3:44 pm Oooh a thermomix!!! Do you love using it? I plan to have nothing on mine either. I have told my partner it is to be clear zone at all times - he loves leaving the potholder in the middle of my perfectly clean bench! Drives me nuts haha Jen Building with HomeGroupWA (started as Scott Park Homes ) - Grand Wisteria Check out my Build Thread!! Time line on P1. Re: NatsyPatsy78 update and what to do with my kitchen? 73Sep 18, 2012 4:18 pm Yes I do love my thermomix and it's the best $2k that we have ever spent. It took me awhile for my hubby to agree to it though but even now he agrees that it is worth every cent! I'm going to have a proper spot for it on one of the other benches as I do use it all the time but it would be good if I'm cooking up a storm or have people over that I can place it on the big bench. I wish that the only thing on my bench now was a pot holder but we are very limited with space at this house so I'm hoping the new place will all it's storage etc I will not have the same problem! I can always dream Re: NatsyPatsy78 update and what to do with my kitchen? 74Sep 18, 2012 11:47 pm I am slightly OCD That is what I most look forward to too! Storage space! We measured our current kitchen and it is smaller than our new walk in pantry We looked at each other and were like whoooops! But it will be awesome! We have just signed a PPA with beaumonde homes and are currently modifying the atlantis too! Re: NatsyPatsy78 update and what to do with my kitchen? 76Aug 05, 2013 10:21 pm Hi Streetstruck, yeah we modified the Atlantis plan alot in the end, which took us ages finally to be happy with the plans and beaumonde were really good about it too. We currently only up to the brickwork on the ground floor so can't give you much feedback yet but they have been really good when we had an issue regarding huge limestone rocks at the top soil which was the developers problem but because of this it pushed back Beaumonde being able to start! I'll update with photos but currently on the iPad and can't. Updates now in Build in Iluka - Photo update 77Sep 16, 2013 3:07 pm I accidentally started a new thread so I'm just going to go with it! I recently went through a similar renovation and move scenario when updating our family home. We also swapped some rooms around and tackled a major… 2 10049 No. It's not original. Circa early to mid 90s would be my guess and maybe even as late as early 2000s 1 6636 2 4686 |
