When I measured it on site, it comes short by 240-300mm around the side where the double brick cavity wall located. Is that normal? Do they do the Double brick cavity on top of a strip footing around the slab perimeter??? Re: Slab smaller size than the internal floor plans 2Dec 17, 2011 1:08 am For double brick cavity walls, the internal leaf of bricks will sit on the slab, but the external leaf will sit down on the footings - therefore the slab should only be to the size of the internal bricks, so all sides of the slab will be approx 250mm smaller than the external dimensions shown on your plans. The "bottom" of your slab should be at least the external dimensions.
