We have a house. Just need the land

Well we have decided to go with this home. We are putting a 11x4 summer room out from the meals / games area. 9ft ceilings as well.

I know a lot of you are not fans of dark roofs but we like the combination of Colorbond Ironstone with Boral Double Height bricks Goldstone. It should suit the colonial facade of the house.

Now we just need to find our perfect block to suit this house. Looking at 5+ acres and we start the hunt this weekend. Have posted some pictures in another thread of some land. Site costs might be a worry with the hilly blocks though.

Those other photos of the land had amazing views but you said the building area was flatter?

Get the builder to come out and give you an estimate on what they think. Also the person selling the block has normally had a contour survey done so that should help you get a better understanding of how much it will cost.

I'm on 1.5 acres. I have a 4m fall over where the building envelope is and am building a 335m2 single story. I have to have a 1.5m cut and fill and I also have rock, a bio cycle, 31,500L water tanks and my site costs with our current builder is $30K. Better than another quote of $75K!!!!

Half the battle I think is finding the house so the land should easily follow.

Thanks for the information Jet. I am so excited about this project. Never built a full house before. Just an extension on our current house. Costs seem to be going up so the pool may have to wait until 2009. Or maybe a spa might be nice with those mountain views and a bottle of champagne. :wink:
