Hi, we have a builder who seems great and has so far been really helpful, but we're just wondering about something that has cropped up. This morning my husband visited the site and spoke with one of the carpenters who said that the trusses were going to be too expensive so the builder wanted to talk to my husband.
When the builder arrived he just said that he was going to order trusses for the back half of the house which is elevated and that they would be doing the front section by hand. He didn't mention cost as a factor. The trusses are included in the price, not prime cost of anything, so now we're wondering if he's underestimated the cost so is trying to save money. If that is the case - is it something we should be concerned about?
I know it has to be inspected by the engineer, so you could say that if it looks ok, and the roof holds up - does it matter either way?
Or should we be pushing the matter and making a fuss?
