Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Dec 12, 2011 3:29 pm We have got our contract to sign up with statesman to get to build our house. There are som things on there that are incorrect though, like one plan has our double garage door another has a single door, one plan has 600mm eave the other has 400 eaves adn other similar things to that. When queiring this we were told not to worry and sign it any way and pencil in the changes that need to be made as it is just the preliminalry contact so beofre paying deposit and getting the soil test done that then there would be another one done does this sound right??? Havent never build a house we arent sure TIA Signing Contract help (statesman) 2Dec 12, 2011 4:00 pm Dont sign anything!!!!!! If you are not happy, get them to make the changes, then sign... Ive built with statesman... They were very shifty about 4 years ago... Also look in your contract for who removes the dirt they excavate.. They stung me with having to remove my own soil and it cost like 500 bucks... If anything they tell you to do sounds *******, then take a breath and think about it before signing.... I would absolutely never sign anything under the premise they will fix it later. You sign and its all legal. Been in a similar position and we decided to let the builder go. Some of the PSA money goes to engineering so we at least got those documents and they actually refunded us… 2 4551 You talk about deletions, are they variations or PS and PC adjustments? pleas list them 1 11992 Are you saying that these consultants are involved at key-points of the building, and perform site inspects at the stages, or only after building is completed to point… 4 8983 |
