Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Dec 11, 2011 3:42 pm hi all I am building a new house and the level at the back side fence is 12.090, front 10.500, slab level 11.315 and floor level 11.400. Distance from back of house to back fence is 6.3 meters. Builder is not building any retaining wall at the back. So I have to look at few options now. My question is if slop of .690 over a distance of 6.3 meter too much or should I have retaing wall at the back boundry. My back neighbour won't bear the cost of retaining wall of $2-3k as he said that my builder has disturbed the natural slop of the site by doing cut and fill. Do I have any other cheapter options available so that i can avoild spending $2-3k on retaining wall. Also the retaining wall won't look so good as the level of house in 12.090 only at the right side of the house only but it reduces as it goes towards the left. so retaining wall won't be for the whole of back side but will be only for half fence or so. Any ideas or suggestions will be appreciated. thanks Thanks for your reply! All valid points and I agree with you on many of them.
