Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Nov 29, 2011 4:14 pm We have a problem. Our block is next door to the sales office and their carpark. There is a temporary fence between our block and the carpark. Our builder is telling us that the pegs are missing where the carpark fence is and want to charge us $1190 for a re survey to be done. Has anyone else had issues like this? We want to be re imbursed by our estate if this is what the go is. http://lindeman28.blogspot.com - Our building blog Re: Pegs been moved by developer 2Nov 29, 2011 4:47 pm It happens a lot. It might just be the marker peg that has gone rather than the boundary peg. This link provides some information on the difference and how to look for the pegs. http://www.anewhouse.com.au/?p=1827 Using the method described I found the pegs the builder was unable to find in about 30 minutes. Re: Pegs been moved by developer 3Nov 29, 2011 8:30 pm Went to the block tonight http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/52/photo1kg.jpg Looks like when they put the fence in for the carpark they took our pegs out but put a marker. Can I legally tell M*tri*on to just use this marker? (pen mark) Really dont want to spend 1200 on a surveyor. The peg looks like its sitting next to the fence. http://lindeman28.blogspot.com - Our building blog Re: Pegs been moved by developer 4Nov 29, 2011 8:41 pm See if you can find the other three pegs using the info in the link with my previous comment. The builder only needs three pegs. The Harder You Try - the Luckier You Get ! Re: Pegs been moved by developer 5Nov 30, 2011 2:48 pm Well I just did some digging and I'll be buggered I found the front peg that Metri*con couldn't. it took me 3 seconds of digging to find it. I suppose charging us 1200 bux is easier then having half a look. http://lindeman28.blogspot.com - Our building blog Re: Pegs been moved by developer 6Nov 30, 2011 3:14 pm Good On You. What you need to do now is tell them in writing you have located the pegs and it is their responsibility from now on. The Harder You Try - the Luckier You Get !
