Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Feb 12, 2008 5:12 pm having purchased some land in brookwater a few months back and sold our house we are getting things moving with the process to build, As our land slopes down quite a bit I have designed the house myself and we are looking at a few builders to get the job done.
Just wondering if wnyone here is commecning building or has recently finished building in brookwater and how things are going with the covenants, did you need custom house, do you recommend any builders who can do split level? I'm also somewhat concerned that the area is mostly full of older folk as my partner & I are 26 I dont want to feel like I'm living in a retirment village would be good to know that other younger folk live close by. Re: is anyone building or recently built in brookwater? 2Feb 13, 2008 7:38 am We live in Springfield Lakes and are building at Spring Mountain but regards to builders in the area that do split level, I would highly recommend GJ Gardner at Springfield Lakes. I took in a drawing I did for a house and asked them to do me up a plan which they did, they also do split level houses (their display home at SL is a split level). Unfortunately they were just out of our budget and I couldn't stretch to use them.
I don't know a lot about the average age of people living there but I do know a couple of people who are out there in there late 20's early 30's also Augustine Heights has heaps of young families living there. Good Luck with the build. Great course by the way!! Jet Re: is anyone building or recently built in brookwater? 3Feb 13, 2008 9:49 am Do a search for Kaha Homes. I've gone with a project builder mainly because I'm building on a flat site.
But if I was building on a sloping block I'd highly recommend Kaha Homes - The make some beautiful custom homes and the quality is flawless. Re: is anyone building or recently built in brookwater? 4Feb 13, 2008 3:12 pm Kerdic Homes also have a great split level display home at Springfield Lakes and the design and quality is brilliant. Re: is anyone building or recently built in brookwater? 5Feb 14, 2008 7:00 pm judging from the pics kaha homes doesnt llok like the ype of builder for us , kerdic I have looked into but arent cheap and I have an ambitious budget. Just to nake things harder I also need a builder who can give me credits for & allow me to supply certain furnishings like vanities, kitchen, oven, rangehood, cupboards, lighting, tiles etc as well as paint as i can upgrade to better quality for the same price or cheaper by obtaining them myself through my own sources.
Combined with the strict covenants which add to the cost it looks like I have a tough time ahead of me., Re: is anyone building or recently built in brookwater? 6Feb 16, 2008 11:07 pm Hi, Can't give you much insight into a builder, but my partner and I are both 30 and we are building in Augustine Heights. Brookwater is very nice but Augustine generally seems to have bigger blocks and is more family orientated. Good for us and our kids. I have seen younger families around the Brookwater streets Building for the 1st Time. In - Augustine Heights - Brisbane With - Clarendon - Hamilton 35 Re: is anyone building or recently built in brookwater? 7Feb 17, 2008 9:55 pm we considered augustine heights as it just across the road but figured for about the same price we can go brookwater instead, we didnt take into consideration the rates, covenants or weekly homeowners fee.
who are you building with and what stage are you at? I cant stand display homes anymore especially if you start talking to the sales person gee they can talk, get stuck there for ages. You just make sure you augustine heights folk stay out of our communal brookwater pool & tennis courts when its built Re: is anyone building or recently built in brookwater? 8Jun 19, 2013 7:50 am Hi piranha, This post is super old but hopefully you still see this. I'm in the same situation and have just put in an offer for land and looking for suitable builder. Who did you end up using?? Do you or does anybody have any further recommendations?? How did you go with the covenant?? Cheers https://form.jotform.com/240284569218058 Please spare a moment to fill out this survey form for a project. You stand a chance to win a digital gift voucher.
