So it's definitely not just us. So maybe it is the steel manufacturer's, the hot temperatures or something else? Who knows. I must have missed that one I only know of two that already have frames Yes, the third one is just 3 blocks down from one of the other two. It's in the new part on the extension of Captain Robertson Avenue after it crosses Tuscan Road. I didn't notice it before X-mas so they may only have poured the slab in the new year. I got a reply from the Building Manager. According to her our frames are delayed due to the X-mas closures, because full production in many companies does not resume until the end of January. In addition the size and complex design of our house supposedly delayed frame production further. And lastly she also said that the hot weather does have an impact on which building activities can be performed. Having said all that, weather permitting and all going well we should see a frame in the first week of February. Our little princess had to undergo hip surgery to correct some problems stemming from being born with a hip dysplasia. She was amazingly brave and is now in a bright pink full body cast for the next 6 weeks. Thankfully it has cooled down a bit as the hot weather was quite uncomfortable for her, especially at night. One week down, only 5 to go. Back to building related news and we have seen the first bit of action on our block since they poured the slab. There was a van from a plumbing company parked at our block, an excavator and some guys working. I guess they were putting in the sewer pipes. Will have to check it out on my way home tonight. But it is good to see that they have started again after the X-mas break and hopefully that means that we will see some frames soon as well. She is doing as well as can be expected under the circumstances. It's hard for her because she loves to be active and run around. We had a few moments where she pleaded to us to take the cast off but mostly she is really good and we are proud of her and how she is handling the situation. After all she is only 4y8m. * jas * Hope the 6 weeks fly by, she is very brave. Hope the frame goes up quickly. Thank you. Kids are certainly amazing in the way they can handle things. Building update: The plumbers did do the sewer lines today. Unfortunately it looks like they have made a mistake. I think they have worked off the old plan in which the connection from the house to the sewer runs diagonally across the "free" part of our block. We didn't want the pipes to run there because we want to build on there later and don't want to have to deal with the pipes. So I asked for the pipe location to be changed and the plans were amended accordingly. I'll have to catch up with the SS tomorrow to work out what has happened, but should be very easy to fix at this stage. However, it amazes me that builders don't have foolproof systems in place to avoid these things from happening. It's amazing isn't it? It's like all the things that weren't done or not done properly before handover at our place are now having to be done which must be an extra expense to the builder ... but I suppose they factor that into the price For info on our build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=43093 Built the McLaren by Dechellis - slab down 22 Feb - handover 30 Aug 2011 - and gardens finished 9 Dec 2012!! He said he will check up on it and if the plumbers have done it wrong they will have to come back and redo it. So looks like it won't be any problem. I don't know if the customer is paying for it by way of higher prices or the tradies are being held accountable, but in the end I think it is the builders responsibility to make sure they send out the correct plans and ensure that any old versions of plans are "destroyed". Shouldn't be too hard, especially with things that have been changed long before final selections were done and everything was signed off on. I can understand that there may be problems with things that I want changed right now, while construction is already in progress. But this was changed in July last year. dreamcometrue T - our neighbours F0rmat frame is well underway now. I take it yours has not been delivered yet? According to both the SS and the builder's construction supervisor at the office our frames should be delivered tomorrow. Apparently they had some problems with our roof frames but that is sorted and we will see some vertical action very soon. dreamcometrue I had a look at the GG slab, should be an interesting home, over three levels. And I also did notice the hebel house down there and had a good look the other day. I like it. There was also another hebel house in the settlement on Slate Road, towards the end on the right hand side. I like the look of it and I'm looking forward to seeing it go up on our house. SS says it should happen pretty quick once the frame is there. And specially since your building with the same builder (and going first ). Is the other one you saw the double story? No, the hebel house I am talking about is a single storey. It's the last house on the right hand side of Slate Road. It has been finished for about a year or so now I think. It does seem pretty rare that hebel is being used, so it kind of stands out when you drive around and see one, doesn't it?
