Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Nov 21, 2011 10:01 pm We are first time home builders and need some help with our external colour scheme. We have our colour selections coming up in a couple of weeks and I am very confused as I am the type of person who needs to visualize things. We have decided to use Selkirk Blue Rain bricks with off white mortar and a colorbond monument roof as for the rest we had in mind the following ROOF/GUTTERS- Monument FASCIA- Dune DOWNPIPE- monument GARAGE DOOR- cocoba dawn slimline FRONT DOOR- meribu stain (double doors) Once we are in we plan to deck the portico in meribu timber planks I am unsure as to what colour windows to choose do we stick with a a grey like woodland grey, silver or dune We also have three rendered pillars to the front facade and a unitex moulding that sits 10 bricks up from the ground with render underneith. This covers the whole of the front facade. What colours should we choose for render? I would really appreciate if people could post pictures to the thread with similar colour schemes to help us with ideas. We are open to new ideas. As I am new to this I would love some help on how to download pictures too. Thanks guys and gals Re: HELP!!! To add a contrast I was thinking then painting the mouldings in Dune to tie the colours together What do you think? your suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Edited by Michelle Re: HELP!!! Exterior colours crisis expert advise needed 6Nov 23, 2011 4:14 am Unlike the bricks in the photo, yours are quite dark. I think if you do the render in a dark colour there will be no contrast except for the line of Dune running around the house. I think your bricks would benefit with the same look as the render in the photo……light/Duneish. OR do you want your render to blend WITH your bricks? Windows - silver. Exterior colours crisis expert advise needed 8Nov 23, 2011 9:41 pm Thanks heaps Michelle and d@n I will take the advise in to account while doing our colours. I was also thinking silver for the windows but did not want to introduce to many contracting colours hence the reason for tossing up between woodland grey and Dune. If anyone has any pics of blue rain bricks or anything simplar I would love to see what colours you have utilised.
