Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Feb 12, 2008 1:43 pm Has anyone had issues getting final consturction drawings out of PD when you send them back for correction. They are indicating they are short staffed and will get to them as soon as they can even though they have gone ahead and started my slab without them.
Would this be of concern to you. I did recieve first draft of drawings but a couple of small items were wrong and wanted this fixed up before I signed them. This was more than 3 weeks ago. I also awaiting corrected building variations as they continually get these wrong. Shouldnt all paperwork be 100% before site start My slab is going down today and when they send me the bill I am going to tell them I am to short staffed to process it Do you think this is fair Re: consturction drawings and site start 2Feb 12, 2008 2:06 pm I'm not building with PD, but it did happen to us too.
During contract signing, there were lots of errors in the plans We signed the contract, after they agreed to reflect corrections in post-contract variations. There were series of exchanges of documents, as they weren't able to fix 'em in one hit. We didn't sign the post-contract variations unless everything is 100% correct. Re: consturction drawings and site start 3Feb 12, 2008 2:26 pm The problems you face is which set of drawings go to the subcontractors. If you have changed any of the wet areas you better check the slab thoroughly. Depending on the changes/mistakes in the first set of drawings make sure you check for these corrections throughout the construction. Remember the subcontractor will do as per their plans which may not be the final signed off set. Re: consturction drawings and site start 4Feb 12, 2008 3:04 pm If the builder can't update the drawings and there are a list of changes that are required and you would like to sign up, then I would list the changes in the contract. That way, if there is any dispute in the future, the contract will document the real situation. They are just terrible at admin work. They dont check for errors. They claim they are to busy. I hope PD build a better house than the admin prepare paperwork because at the moment they are not filling me with confidence.
I bet everything is solved the day after they send me the base stage bill as they will want their money Thanks very much! And would the landscaper/contractor generally involve the engineer or is that something the client would do?
