Re: New home, poor workmanship pics 2Nov 12, 2011 6:58 am the house has been handed over in that condition? ___________ Started design Aug 2011 Plans submitted to council Dec 2011 Re: New home, poor workmanship pics 3Nov 12, 2011 9:53 am That is awful. Unfortunately I have the same builder. I did a search on the internet and could not find any negative feedback. I am also planning to use Kevin as my inspector for framing, pre plaster and final inspections. I would not accept the home in that condition. Good luck and keep us informed. How on earth do they expect people to accept work like that and why on earth should anyone have to go through so much stress. Not good advertising for them, they have a display here at Doreen, thank god we never built with them. Re: New home, poor workmanship pics 6Nov 12, 2011 6:03 pm I was aware of the bad reviews for NBG but was also aware that your contract is with a local assigned builder. I did a search on the local builder and found no negative feedback. I do know some people who have had good experiences with NBG and some who were bad (local builder went bankrupt). That is exactly the problem. As it is my mums house I'm not sure of the exact process or details of contract but you are shown a flashy display home and sign up with National builders. Then your left to deal with the local builder directly when the quality is nothing like that you signed up for. I know from first hand experience it is not how it worked when we built with Devine Homes. I know i wouldn't be happy with anything shown in those photos, i see on here from time to time that some people move in but hold 5% back in the builder till they fix the list of issues. Is there anyway your mum could do something like that? Good luck. We are having a first walk through with manbuilt on wednesday with a building inspector so this should be interesting! Did your mum use a independant inspector?? Has Manbuilt offered any response or explanation?? Why was there 3 months in between inspections?? Re: New home, poor workmanship pics 13Nov 14, 2011 2:42 pm That is nothing short of disgraceful. If I was your mum I would refuse to sign anything accepting handover or paractical completion. I would photograph and document every piece of poor workmanship and would be referring to the builders disputes board in her state.
