Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Nov 10, 2011 3:24 pm Hi. Brand new member here, so forgive me please if these questions asked before. 1. What would standard builder extra price be for changing new home spec with two standard tile hob showers to hobless showers with reflux valve/s ? 2. Is it possible / legal in Perth WA to have hobless showers without reflux valve/s and if so, how is this achieved please ? Thanks, Rick. : ) Re: Reflux valve cost for hobless shower 2Nov 10, 2011 8:22 pm To go to a hobless shower is roughly in the low $1k's for the reflux valve/larger floor waste etc, plus your builder will probably charge you extra to waterproof the entire floor (normally only the shower recess is waterproofed, instead the whole floor will be done). Multiply by 2 if you are doing two shower recesses. My understanding is that you must have a reflux valve if you want to go hobless. The other alternative is to do a small lip in the floor, so that it still keeps the water within the shower recess - it just depends on your budget and the look you are going for. Also, to go hobless you need to have a bathroom that is big enough - if your bathroom is too small, they can't get the correct fall to the floor which means the water won't drain and you'll end up with water all over your bathroom - a WA builder learnt this the hard way recently and was held responsible Good luck with it. I don't know what the cost of a nice bidet seat with a 25mm air gap will be but you are obviously deducting the cost of a RPZ valve and its… 9 6943 First time building 2 storey home, is under construction (in Framing stage) in NSW.
