Standard ones are generally plastic chinamans hats that look bloody awful, especially with energy saving bulbs. - security doors and/or fly screens for sliding doors - new furniture to go with your spanking new house. Window coverings as mentioned, blinds & curtains both cost quite a bit. Re: Post-handover budgeting 10Nov 09, 2011 8:07 am Garden shed $500 DIY Landscaping $2000 - $10000 (depends a lot on what needs doing and how much you do yourself) Window coverings $1000 - $6000 (the $6000 being plantation shutters) Wall mounted clothesline $100 DIY Rainwater tank and pump and associated plumbing $3000-$4000 Letterbox $100 DIY Double sliding door flyscreen/security door $600-$800 installed These are all based on things we've actually done or have had quoted and can't afford to do yet. The landscaping we are doing progressively ourselves, and have been doing it for nearly a year now!
