Jas build - PCI next week, finally updated with lots of pics

Wow Jas, Well done, your plans look fab and can't wait to watch your build progress

BB
Well we are now bricked and gyprocking was done today. I took my camera but batteries died so will have to go back tomorrow to get the pics. Apparently we should be finished mid to late April.

Well here are the pics (theres a few of them)
The plasterer's were there today and our kitchen is scheduled for delivery 28 February, they have told us that hand over should be mid to late April

We are trying to sort out our floor coverings (either proper wood floors as hubby wants a variation in colour or tiles either dark or light - such a hard choice)
Am hoping to submit our pergola application to council in the next few days.

Tile choices (the laminate samples are stipple seal bench tops and polar white for the cupboard doors) we like the dark but are worried as we have waterfall edges that the benchtop will be touching the dark tile and not sure if they go together.

Well we are locked out!
Was nice to see the front door on but sad I can't get in there. Our kitchen arrives 29 feb but we will be away so it should be all fitted by the time we get home.

Your house is looking great and I love all your selections! Can't wait to see some more photos
Your house is looking amazing, and massive!
You've done a great job! Hope you get your kitchen soon, and that the pergola gets approved, it would look so beautiful there behind the garage!
Thank you. Well I seem to have neglected my thread lol. Lots has been done and I took pics today so once I get to the computer I will upload it, pci should be next week.

Love everything! Looking forward to it all coming together!
Well we are waiting on the painter to finish, our carpet will be in on tuesday and our garage doors went in yesterday and the A/C and bathrooms were done the other week. All that we have left is the oven and stove to go in, sparky to put the light switch plates on to look pretty and well i think thats about it, PCI is meant to be next week so hopefully we will have the keys by the end of the month. We have purchased our tiles at the beaumonts half price sale (just waiting on them to be delivered at the end of the month).
Well here are a couple of pics. Sorry not sure whats happening with the pics, i thought i fixed them all.
We went with the tile on the right but as a 600x600

Great "couple" of pics
you've done well
Great design - you should be very happy there - well done on the tiles!!
Thanks Mclaren, we are very happy (just need to find a few bath spouts and a rain shower) and then it's finished (for now). Will get a better pic of the kitchen once the painter takes all his crap off the benches.
Just semi booked (waiting on hand over date) a guy to lay the pavers for the driveway (18m wide and only 11m long) we have gone for grey pavers as the garage doors are paperbark so hopefully they balance out and look ok, just need to decide on a pattern for the pavers.
Waiting on council to approve our pergola plans, due to the size they are wanting extra reinforcing so waiting for stratco to get the extra bit organised and hopefully we can have it put up straight after hand over.
It's getting very exciting now, so close to the finish and I can't wait to get into the garden (I miss having lawn) plus my kids are driving me bonkers as they are couped up inside all day. Am so excited that they will be getting a new trampoline for their birthdays (3 weeks apart) as the dog chewed the mat in their last one when we moved, it will give me some peace and quiet lol.

Is PCI this week???
Doubt it will happen this week as the SS visits Wednesdays or Thursday's and he hasn't rang to arrange it so I'm now guessing (or hoping) it will be next week which is good as hubby will be home.
Carpets went in today
look great and the joiner has been back to fix the bits that were missing, still waiting on painter to finish (would have been finished ages ago if he didn't spend so much time having a break).

Pre handover inspection is on Thursday

Hoping to have keys 2 weeks after!

excellent!!
Hi Jasmin, found your thread though a search of septic systems. My partner and I are building in Adelaide Hills that requires an on site aerobic septic system.

May I ask if you went through your builder or chose to put the system inplace yourself and what brand of system?

Your house is looking lovely, WIR looks great! I too, had a must-have for the walk through pantry!

Amanda
Hi Amanda, thank you, I love the pantry so much space.
our council had a requirement that we had a ri treat system and it was organised through the builder. We have a 4250lt ri industries aerobic system, we have not moved in yet and already I'm starting to dislike the septic. I knew I couldn't use bleach but was unaware about not being able to use anti bacterial cleaners, soap etc and that dishwasher tablets can't contain phosphate etc. Perhaps I was a little ignorant but I had no idea that I can only use biodegradable products that are bleach and phosphate free and that the system can not be programmed when to come on and that it comes on when it hits the float and stops once it's pumped out enough water, so if the kids are running around the back yard and the sprinklers come on, well they have to learn to run before they get soaked.
I was also told not to do more then 2 loads of easing in a 24 hour period as it can upset the system, I think it's a bit of trial and error though so will see how it holds up. Apparently the service guys come oh every 3 months to service the system and add chlorine tablets.

We hope to move in in about 4 weeks so will let you know how it goes.

That sounds expensive. How much to have the guys come. We opted for a gravity fed one, service it every 4 yrs, don't worry about what you put down there etc. glad we did.
I can't be buying expensive washing powder!
