Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Nov 05, 2011 7:09 pm Hi all, just a question regarding staining cedar. We have 2 sets of sliding cedar doors, a 4 leaf cedar bifold and timber to our facade that will need to be stained. I had a look around the house today and came across the tin of stain they have started using (so far only 1 set of sliders are stained). Only, its not a tin of stain, its a 4 litre tin of Wattyl Sanding Sealer that they seem to have tinted? It says it's meant to be a clear finish grain filler but I can see the stain colour around the tin. What are they doing? This product seems to have a completly different purpose, and as we have spent so much money on our cedar I'm a little concerned. But of course I don't want to say anything as I know nothing about staining and they are the proffessionals! Painters! They may have really large drums of various stains in their warehouse. I have no idea really... Just a wild guess! Painters!
