Looking great Helyn,
I couldn't stop laughing when I saw the drawing, someone was obviously bored
My mum has a gorgeous leadlight on her front door and her sidelights, still looks amazing 10 years on
My karma ran over your dogma

Wow! Posted my photos, went to bed, and now look at all these responses!!
What benchtop are you having on your ensuite vanity??
It's called that, its just laminex, not real granite.
Nice arch, glad you got your way
Yes, plasterer did that for us on weekend and we paid him in cash.
Am pleased with the way it turned out, does look better than plain arch, especially with our style of home.
Sorry to throw a spanner in to the works, but shouldn't your bathtub be sitting inside some sort of framework?
Eager, ummm, I don't know.
I think the bath has just been put in its place to get it out the way, not actually installed yet, hard to install a kitchen with a ruddy big bath in the floor space
whats with the drawing lol - arent these people working!
Well, I guess not everyone has an internet forum to wile away their break time
Whoever drew the pics has really started something, there is then a running commentary along the side, starting off with comments like "Your team sux" and sort of degenerating from there - couldn't put on here, might get moderated!!!
We are not offended, in fact we find it quite funny
btw, when is your expected handover date?
We don't have an exact date but I asked this a week or so ago, as we need to put our current house on the market soon, and we were told about 3 more months.

Moodyfish, your'e right, the tradie does have a rather sheepish look, hadn't notice that before
But, to be fair, it can't have been him who did the drawing as it has been there for a week or so (could see it thru window) and kitchen installers only arrived yesterday.
He may have added one of the running tally comments next to it though, some of which are getting a tad naughty
Actually this lad was the cabinet makers' assistant or apprentice, only looked about 16 years old.
And, yes, he was working under supervision

A couple more pics, taken today:
Vanity unit in main bathroom
Kitchen nearing completion. Very standard conventional style. Long bench top, won't know what to do with it all, 4m length.
Yours truly in the fridge space. (was DH's bright idea to make pic look more personal )

Very nice Helyn! Had a laugh at the footy pic too. At least you know the tradies are having a good time - has to be good karma for your house!
4 metres of kitchen bench! Wow that's huge! I'd love all that prep space

Ok, on the home stretch now, nearly all painting done ( footy pics covered up now, was funny for a while) and tileing commenced, latest pics below.
Supervisor says handover should only be about 6 weeks away
Eager, are you reading this: navy, red and yellow are soooo You
Kitchen splashhback tiles.
Am so pleased with these; plain cream tiles with frieze picking up the bench top colour of dark burgundy( arcante rosso)
Waterproofing done in the ensuite and tiling commenced
Main bedroom with bay window: walls are Stone white and skirtings and doors double strength Stone White (misleading name, colour is more of a pale cream or ivory)
Bifold doors on lounge. I am a sucker for lead lighting
And just for interest; next door neighbours house is now at frame stage, lovely view thru B2, they can sit back and admire our garage wall
I think we chose our floor plan much better suited to the block: all main windows are at least 4m from the fence line and 6m on eastern side.

looks great Helyn! hope they painted lots of coats on the footy players
your tiles do go very well with the benchtops (what you can see of them). your neighbours are lucky you have such nice bricks to stare at!

Thank you, donuts.
I was feeling very neglected because nobody commented on my photos
Am sorry to see end of footy players in a way as it was quite amusing going to the house and seeing latest comment, there was a long running commentary alongside the pictures, I think every tradie had something to say (most of it not suitable for a public forum)

More pics taken today: tiling well underway now.
Door into laundry.
A broom cupboard: how exciting
Main bathroom, only floor tiling done so far.
Ensuite shower wall: feature tiles look much more orange on screen than in real life.
Boohoo , can't just wander into house or peek thru windows any more, estate is fenced right around now by this monster, apparently vandalism and building site theft was becoming a problem. I did notice a few broken windows on houses, luckily not ours. About half of the 34 houses in development (all house/land packages with same builder) are now at some stage of construction.

Thank you. Do I use timber floorboards for stairs or do people use timber treads? Or is both the same?
