Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Oct 31, 2011 9:15 am Hi all, Here is copy of our plans.. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ When the plans were done up the WC door for the main bathroom was outward swinging. I really didnt like this so the builder switched it to inward swinging with removable hinges. Now we have a frame etc and can see it all we just dont think there is enough room to close the door without straddling the toilet! We can either change it back to outward swinging or we can put a standford bi-fold (same style as our other internals). The problem with this is they have a different handle that our others so may look a little odd and we've been told the privacy lock wont work with it. Do you wish you had something different?? We are kinda unsure what to do? We want it to look nice but still functional?? Thanks!! Building in Adelaide, SA Slab poured 08/09/2011 Handover 18/01/2012! Had this in the last house too and it works really well, in fact I have about 8 or 9 CSD's in this house, they are a great space saver and look neat. If the plaster isn't fixed couldn't they remove some wall studs and fit a CSD frame? An outward opening door or bifold would be a last option, imho, but might suit you. Hope this helps? Re: Internal Bi-fold - HELP! 3Oct 31, 2011 9:30 am Unfortunately the wall part was big enough for a cavity as we looked at this originally.. It appears these are our only two options.. It could even be a cavity slider there. Putting a door to the toliet will make that seem very small. This means your powder room is the vanity and toliet combined. Also; after you go to the toilet, you wash your hands and then open the door. With the door on the toilet, you have to touch the door handle, then wash your hands. I don't think that is good hygiene. Just my opinion! I know it means combing the bathroom and toliet, but you do have the ensuite, and even if someone is in the bathroom, you can still use the toliet - unless they've locked the door to the powder room as well! Yeh ideally that would have been good, but have progressed too far now. Hoping some well placed internal walls fixed up into the battens will provide some… 2 5416 Thank you alexp79 and gommeqld for your advice, that's very helpful, thanks 3 7945 3 10218 |
