Hi,
I have recently moved into a house I build, but I found that the opening of windows architraves are not as described in the plans, although the external opening does match with the plans. I contacted my builder but was told the measurement on plans are for window frame (whatever it means) but not for architrave. I took a closer look and found that the architraves on my windows goes close the the end of aluminum frame (I can't see most of the frame) - refer

Where as my friend's architrave is of the same size as the brick opening and aluminum frame is clearly visible.

Does this means my builder has made a mistake?
As a result I have to custom make all my window blinds, as the architrave opening is no longer standard sizes. It resulted in me have to pay double for all the window blinds. Is there a chance I can get compensation from my builder? Do I have a case?
