I love it! I will definitely be checking out that artificial turf, looks the nicest I've seen so far. You must absolutely love not having sand around anymore ...and don't be sad about not having anymore house stuff to do (but let's be honest, we'll always find stuff to do!)...you've got a wedding to work on now! It's finally happening! We have just done our 6 month list. Nothing major, but a few annoying things. Pretty much every room needs cornice cracking fixed, HGWA has their own painters now, so they will be out here for a day fixing all that up and they will fix up the wall painting too. We have several cracked tiles... 3 along the Bathroom bath hob where they meet the bath, one between the ensuite bath and a wall (the guy let out a groan and said the tilers going to love him haha) and a couple in the laundry with some grout cracking (its along the known slab crack, so hopefully all settled and wont happen again!) And then the other one which resulted in both Daniel and I in the toilet inspecting the cistern like it was a genies bottle... the ensuite toilets flush button had come loose.... about 2 weeks after moving in. now I am relatively DIY and though piece of p*ss i'll just take the lid off and screw it back on.... not so simple. Lid doesn't lift up! Check for a clip or closure and nothing! So i get Daniel and he brings a torch as he is smart like that... and there is absolutely no way into the toilet.... we tried prying the lid off with a screwdriver and nothing! So we ask the guy how to get the lids off and he says they just lift off, and tried is and nothing! what has happened is when the plumber has siliconed the cistern to the wall the silicone has squeezed up and he has plonked the lid on top not waiting for it to dry and glue the lid down he came back Thursday and fixed it, so now i can do my own DIY toilet repairs! I will put up some more recent photos of the limestone as it was quite dirty after the grass went in and has now faded and weathered a bit and is looking amazing!!! I also haven't taken a final elevation photo so I will put that up too! Jen Building with HomeGroupWA (started as Scott Park Homes ) - Grand Wisteria Check out my Build Thread!! Time line on P1. I am jealous at how stunning your house looks - every single colour works perfectly together, I love the planter on the front. Ahh!! I have to ask, is that one of the stratco 'handi mate' sheds I spy out the back??? The one with the sliding door??? Did you guys put it together?? We want to get one as they are not very wide and we are limited for space but are a bit put off by putting it together. Building the Riva by Dale Alcock Homes. We want to get one as they are not very wide and we are limited for space but are a bit put off by putting it together. Thanks MissEm! I was glad that the house elevation already had a planter so we could get away with just having grass... having to work out an actual landscape design would have been too hard! The shed is actually a backless one with a hinged door from Masters. It was $150 but there are now down to $99! I just asked Daniel if the shead was easy to put together and he said its do-able but not fun.... Its by no means the fanciest or sturdiest shed but we only keep like 1 shovel and a rake in there so its not a huge concern. http://www.masters.com.au/product/100680120/easyshed-off-the-wall-shed-zinc Jen Building with HomeGroupWA (started as Scott Park Homes ) - Grand Wisteria Check out my Build Thread!! Well done on everything. We are in the very early process of building, our titles are available in August and are waiting for our plans and pre start. Can I please ask a few questions? 1. Where did you get your gates and what colour are they? 2. How did you wire up your pantry LED strip lighting to 240v? Thanks and kind regards, Re: HomegroupWA in Success - The green green grass of home : 1196Jun 23, 2013 11:20 pm Hi Lewis! Thankyou! The gates are from boardwalk and are colorbond jasper in colour, we did our dark render in jasper and the white in surfmist so it was all colorbond and easy to match (roof and windows are surfmist too) http://boardwalk.net.au/ the pantry lighting was done by my fiance, it is powered through a computer power supply in our front linen cupboard and then it goes through a relay board in the cupboard so the computer can turn it on and off when we trigger a sensor. Then to get the power from the cupboard to the pantry it is 12 volt low voltage wiring.... thats the simple version apparently - sorry I'm probably not a lot of help, he just does this stuff and I am like Ok His next project is a distance sensor in the garage so i can park the car the right amount in the garage, I just got a subaru forester (LOVE!) to replace my ford fiesta, so is a bit larger...... not that i need a parking sensor, but it will be rather cool hahah Jen Building with HomeGroupWA (started as Scott Park Homes ) - Grand Wisteria Check out my Build Thread!! Re: HomegroupWA in Success - The green green grass of home : 1199Jun 24, 2013 2:27 pm Lol! Same! Lucky his friends are less electrical nerds and more actual nerds, so I have to throw in words like 'termagaunt' and 'D20' to join in the conversation House is amazing we are tight for money atm but getting a few small bits and pieces finished off as we go. Just put fresh mulch in the gardens last weekend and they look awesome again! Amazing how much a small thing can make a difference... Still no WIR or fitted out study or reshaped driveway, but I'd need Lotto to do those things I think Your house is beautiful! I drool with envy... Re: HomegroupWA in Success - The green green grass of home : 1200Jun 24, 2013 4:03 pm daveandally1 Your house is beautiful! I drool with envy... haha thankyou! getting the small things done is what takes the time... we have to patch up some window sills as the charming cats clawed it and jumped up and dug bits of plaster and paint off... plaster and paint surprisingly harden quite a lat even after you move in! Also still have 2 blinds and some patching from the install off the others (DIY) to do too, but wanted to wait until the cornices are fixed so we will just make a whole heap of dust then, then clean instead of doing it twice! Our money situation changed a bit last month as I decided to quite my job to start studying Graphic Design! I'm doing an online course though so negotiated part time 2 days a week of work and not managing people (i self combusted and was so stressed that i wasn't sleeping... and was exhausted at the end of every day... most nights there was tears so something had to be done!) So now I am zen Jen, but the downside is I haven't got money to buy house things hahah.... I'd still like to organise the decorating a bit better and get some cushions and a nice armchair for the bedroom. But the less stress is worth it! And Daniel agrees as now I don't go raging at him for no reason..... much Plus hopefully kiddies aren't too far off the horizon, so there will be many things to buy and decorate!
