Re: HomegroupWA in Success - The green green grass of home : 1202Jun 29, 2013 8:14 pm Looks fantastic! Woo hoo was able to view the photos! I'm sure you guys are enjoying your beautiful home Mrs Rex Re: HomegroupWA in Success - The green green grass of home : 1203Jul 01, 2013 4:21 pm Thanks Mrs Rex! Painter and tiler are here today fixing up things on our maintenance list... tiler will be back next monday as the office didn't quite get the magnitude of removing mitred tiles from between the edge and the bath. So he has done the bathroom, still the laundry floor and ensuite to go. The ensuite concerns me as he said its possible to crack the bath as the tile that needs replacing is an absolute biatch (my words not his) place to get to... between the bath and the wall with a skirting tile on top. He had booked a 12pm appointment, so had to go and will leave a whole day for next monday to get it right... Lucky for only working wednesday and thursday! Since Daniel started a new job today! And the painter is doing a marvelous job, I have been watching so I can learn to fix cracks myself. And he said that our painter did a really really good job! So for anyone who I passed that on to, there is more feedback from an actual painter hahah Jen Building with HomeGroupWA (started as Scott Park Homes ) - Grand Wisteria Check out my Build Thread!! You've given me an idea for a way to fill up one of the future kiddies bedrooms - a bag room I don't have many shoes but I am a tad obsessed with bags I currently have my favourite ones squashed into one of the those cube bookcases and the rest are in a packing box just waiting to be released They are so much easier to see displayed like you have them. Should be an easy sell to hubby too - because mine are all squished up I forgot what I have so I buy more but if they are displayed as lovely as yours are I won't need to (well that's what I'll tell him anyway ) Our custom Gemmill Home in Bedfordale WA Build thread:https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=53788 Timeline on page 1 Re: HomegroupWA in Success - The green green grass of home : 1208Jul 01, 2013 6:00 pm Just had another thought - I can use our walk in storage cupboard as a bag room It's right near our bedroom and has shelving already and it's not like I have enough linen to fill 3 linen cupboards anyway Hehehe thanks Jen, you picture has turned my day around - instead of stressing about the build dramas, I am dreaming of my future bag room! I have had trouble filling even one linen cupboard haha. It is much easier... I went out last Thursday and had a friend over and was going through a storage tub with bags in and pulled out a black one and was like "this is not my bag!" and she goes "yes it is - i was with you when you bought it!" i had absolutely no memory of it! i'm glad to have got you excited about something "post construction" i cannot fathom how bad they are at the moment. I had heard HGWA was in a bit of a mess coming back from xmas but seem sorted now - nothing compared to what you are experiencing! You're a lucky duck to have such a clever hubby (to be if I remember correctly) Re: HomegroupWA in Success - The green green grass of home : 1212Aug 05, 2013 11:25 pm Thanks SB - he will appreciate the feedback! He certainly is a keeper! He made me a parking sensor so I know I am in the garage far enough to open the back of my car too He is so clever! And you are correct! Re: HomegroupWA in Success - The green green grass of home : 1213Aug 08, 2013 10:21 pm Bet you know exactly how many days away haha. Mine glued a bit of timber to the floor so my car would fit snugly, am still waiting for him to do same in our new home can't even get into the garage yet Re: HomegroupWA in Success - The green green grass of home : 1214Aug 08, 2013 11:07 pm Hopefully you can get into the garage soon SB! The bit of wood glued to the floor it probably a much easier idea hahah Jen Building with HomeGroupWA (started as Scott Park Homes ) - Grand Wisteria Check out my Build Thread!! Time line on P1. Re: HomegroupWA in Success - we have keys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 1215May 26, 2014 3:49 pm Matt+Jo enelya 1rocky I'm interested to see what you think of the Oscillot! We are doing the same - a cat run down the side for our two precious Burmese... like you, id be devastated if they got out as they'd roll on their back for a tummy rub from anything - including a vehicle! argh. & our neighbours all have dogs.... so I was contemplating the Oscillot (which isnt the prettiest item) or cat mesh over the top. Could you achieve the same thing by running a wire along the top of your fence? A wire would stop them from being able to jump onto the fence top. Re: HomegroupWA in Success - The green green grass of home : 1216Mar 12, 2015 11:20 pm So not entirely sure if anyone is still following but we have had a busy couple years! I have a new email and couldn't work out how to update so made a new user. Hence the returns! It's just gone 2 years in our house and it's great! But there are a few things I would do differently. Update on us.... We got married Oct 13 then welcomed our first child a girl on the 5th December last year, her name is Delaney Rae and she is perfect in every way! Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ The house is still good, we added a cat run in the end but haven't done much more apart from decorate a babies room! I have quit work at Dowell windows (mid last year) and started a small business making pram liners and hubby is still in IT. I will share some pics of the cat run (which we leave au naturele.... ie WEEDS!) and bubbas room. So why am I back? We are tossing around the idea of building again! We are thinking meadow springs, as my brother just built there so we would be closer to any cousins Delaney might have (he just got engaged!) and Success is so darn busy! It's just absolutely cray cray and there are 2 new estates right near us, and I'm sick of it. And it's tipped to continue to boom. So we are thinking of renting out this house after we build the next. Currently looking at the Wilson and Hart Isla Vista. Wanting to go a boutique builder to have more selections (I'm hoping to do a rusting exposed brick wall in the kitchen with concrete benchtops and white cupboards) Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Jen Self confessed building addict "My favourite colour is glitter" Re: HomegroupWA in Success - The green green grass of home : 1217Mar 13, 2015 1:05 pm Congratulations and good luck Re: HomegroupWA in Success - The green green grass of home : 1218Mar 13, 2015 1:16 pm Your little girl is gorgeous . Congrats . I would love to build just to do things a bit better . He he . And this time im well equipped . Great plan you will get lost in that home lol . What builder are you looking at Re: HomegroupWA in Success - The green green grass of home : 1219Mar 13, 2015 3:25 pm Hi Jen & welcome back. You were the first person to comment on my thread and I am constantly checking your timeline to see how ours compares Wow I think it's great you want to build again. After this experience, I am thinking it will be the last for us....we are still going, but I think the end is almost in sight Congrats on the wedding and your gorgeous little girl Re: HomegroupWA in Success - The green green grass of home : 1220Mar 13, 2015 4:53 pm Thankyou all! We are looking at Wilson and Hart, but also considering Ross Griffin as I know a few people who have had really good experiences with them. I just want to have a bit more say in options and special finishes this time around. I even (briefly) considered going down the owner build route but I think it would be far to much to attempt! I will have to do up a list of things I would change next time haha. I actually really miss that rush of going to site and seeing what has changed. It's like my crack hahah! We need the space for my craft room and hubby's whatever it is he does in his room (looking at buying a laser cutter!) and we plan on 2 kids (maybe even 3!) so need (want haha) the space. I actually found a block for sale on the row behind my brothers house last night, we would be his diagonal neighbor hahahaha and if we go 2 storey our top floor would be level with his yard *stalks* same street name too. And we could share wifi! So much to think about.... Hubby still needs some convincing (the extra commute to his work is the killer) but I'd rather do it before Delaney starts school.
