Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Oct 17, 2011 12:42 pm Hi, My settlement is a few weeks away and my Solicitor pointed to me, after telling them that I will have an independent building inspector on the site during the final inspection, that the contracts states that no defects will delay settlement (I think this is normal???) and that all defects will need to be written and given to the vendor in writing for them to arrange with their contractors to attend to rectify the works. My question is has anyone here gone down that path? Sounds to me like I wont be having fun with the stickers. I just want to know how difficult it is doing it this way rather than the sticky way. Should I still get a building inspector out to document any defects?
