Browse Forums Building A New House We built with them 2yrs ago 761Jul 11, 2015 7:06 am When we were looking at building we found it hard to find anyone that had mad reports on how they were happy with the house or not a few years after the fact. Which we thought was strange in that everyone was talking only about the build process, when in reality you want to know you can live in the place. Check out our blog for as we will keep up dating it as time goes on. Both the good an the bad. Though some changes they wont do if it means it'll void the warranty or if there's a good structurual reason. If it's already started, then that means contracts have been signed off, drawings have been done to accomodate changes and requests, things may have been ordered, a lot's happened. That'd be the reason why, even if it's not too far into the build, it's why you have the tender and contract signing. What are you wanting changed? I'm confused by your situation though. Have you bought into a home that had already started construction? I'd have thought if you were getting landscaping done with it, that you'd have worked that out prior to building? Hey mate, Yeah this is a property that is about 70% completed and i can understand that some of the changes we asked for can't be done, but some of them surely could have been if the builder was just a little bit more forthcoming. We already said that we would pay all the expenses for the requested changes as well. We haven't bought into anything. All we did is pay a$1k deposit and we have 4 weeks to back out and get that money refunded to us. We went and saw the place again a few days ago and have pretty much decided to pull out. Too many compromises on our part and a very uncooperative builder is behind our decision and it is too much money to have to just accept those compromises. Re: Anyone building with MainVue Homes 763Jul 13, 2015 10:55 am I stumbled across another post you had with changes you requested too, they weren't anything major at all, so I can see exactly where you're coming from. I would have done the same in your situation based on that. Have you got another builder you're looking at going to? Yeah we didn't think so either and as i said before, all we got from them is a "No" or silence. Not at the moment. We are looking for a block of land first before we start looking at builders or if an already built property suitable for us comes along, we are more than happy to check it out. Re: Anyone building with MainVue Homes 765Nov 19, 2015 12:08 pm anyone building the Aegean from mainvue?? Wish you all the best. Once you signed the contract, they will find millions excuses to charge you. And have seen their sites unfinished for a long time. 4 24828 I haven’t. But have a Lowe Design home.
