We had bricks delivered just before Christmas and work is starting up again today with the bricklayer coming on site and the heating/cooling being fitted. Very excited about work starting up again. Not sure when they are heading back to work, communication has been a bit lacking since the construction side of things started - but again not much we can do about that either unfortunately We are just hoping that once they get back out there that things will run a bit more smoothly than they have so far. That's awesome news that things are getting started again today for you guys You must be sooo excited!! MY SS mentioned that he will be back from holidays on the 9th and today the Brickies were working. The admin/ofice team of burbank goes back this week not all ss go back this week so it may be this week or next week you notice working being done, from my understanding it really just depends on the trades required and how long the ss has. Its me and my hubby and my two girls living with my parents, but they have sold too, so we have to move out over Easter and we all have no clue where we may be living. Fun and games We were told when we signed up there would be 'no worries' in starting straight after the Xmas break, but that was never true. So now we want to perfect a few things before they apply for our permits and Burbank are saying no. Unfortunately at the beginning everything is 'no worries' and now everything is the opposite. Defintely sounds like we are in the same boat I must admit some of our delays getting to site weren't the fault of B we got held up by council a fair bit, but it also seemed as though we were told unrealistic time frames from the start (2 weeks for council aapproval for build over easement - this took nearly 6 weeks) (10 days for building permit - took nearly 4 weeks) and then we signed final drawings on 1/12/2011 and were told we would definetely have a slab before xmas, but that didn't happen either... now we can't get a word out of anyone as to what's happening on site or anything it's really frustrating doublej2500 I am so sorry to hear that Sar&Andy, I understand your frustration. So feeling a little more positive today, hoping to hear there will be some progress over the next few days and fingers crossed a slab by the end of next week! doublej2500 We both might be assigned the same Laison when Burbank hire a new person Good luck with your call tomorrow It looks that way doublej - at this stage they have got her manager looking after things Sarah, Andy & Parker - Building Our First Home - Burbank Lamont 2600 Our Thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=51696 Re: Our Lamont 2600 - Feeling a little more positive :) 77Jan 13, 2012 3:06 pm Another Update - Hubby had a good chat with our SS yesterday and things are on the move again SS explained that with everything going on with the change of liasion things have been a bit all over the place, but things should now be back on track Plumbers were booked to be out on site today doing stormwater, sewerage etc. Concretors are back from holidays early next week, so he is hoping slab prep will be done by the end of next week and the slab poured early the week after, hopefully before the Australia day holiday. He also said our frame is ordered and ready to go. he just needs to call up and arrange it to be delivered once the slab is ready Feeling a lot more positive and excited about things again now that we have some idea of where things are at Yay!
