Hopefully you get a call from your SS today. Pfffft it was wishful thinking unfortunately, info we were given Friday was that earthworks would start this week Wed/Thurs and yesterday we were told our SS is still doing our admin checks and works won't start until next week... and with the weather looking pretty damp in the first half of the week, I can't see much happening at all! Slightly disappointed, I just wish people would stop giving us false hope and making false promises - it seems to have been a constant thing in our journey with BB so far, always being told one thing and then things dragging out days and weeks beyond! And I fully understand that things change and things can take longer, but stop giving us unrealistic hope and go with a more conservative approach to your time frames rather than trying to sound like something is happening when it's not! Rant over LOL! I'm annoyed ATM too. They left out a cavity sliding door on our plans and they keep revising them and still not getting it right. How hard is it to put the door we paid for already in the spot specified between entry/living? Now they have put in the new plans we got back today only to find they took another one out from the other door way, WTF??? It's a waste of time. Most of the house packages now include driveways, glass splashbacks, curtains/blinds as standard which all preclude you from the 18-week build guarantee. Re: Our Burbank - Lamont 2600 - Site start this week!!! :D 52Dec 09, 2011 8:57 am that's pretty lame....why does BB even advertise the 18-week build time guarantee.... ... oh well.... Re: Our Burbank - Lamont 2600 - Site start this week!!! :D 53Dec 09, 2011 11:55 am For what it's worth, our admin took 7 months (and it was all kinds of frustrating) but our slab was poured 12 September and our build is already almost complete. Though we have found Burbank far from perfect I do not believe they are necessarily any worse than any other volume builder. It helped enormously reading Homeone threads before and during each stage to gauge what to expect. We are rapt with the overall progress and quality of our build to date and look forward to moving in hopefully mid-late Jan. It helps if you lower your expectations of staff and remain positive Re: Our Burbank - Lamont 2600 - Site start this week!!! :D 54Dec 09, 2011 2:27 pm hahaha love that comment spazorange... We have just finished framing - Hoping to have Roofs before Christmas, However Burbank complete ground floor bricks before they do the rook (Unlike Porter Davies or other volume builders). I will keep posted on my progress.
