Hi my name is Odie and hubby is Andy:) Well.. I guess it's better late than never. i've already posted up here before:) I'm building first home with Henley and well wish that we had started writing in this thread much more earlier. I've been documenting my building with a little flip camera. ( not very good with making home movies though) so here our story condensed in six minutes from slab to where we are right now.

Just wanted to start a thread here... even though we're near the end! I've been reading some of the threads here with people building their homes and I must say, you all have beautiful homes. Sometimes the more I read with the threads here , very inspired and at awe. I must say .. I love the photos!
So far everything is in place now. The painters have come and gone, our kitchen is complete, The portaloo has come and gone, our sinks, taps are installed, the tubs are in, the tiles are nearly finished and the lighting is also up. The fencing on the side and back is up, Our fireplace was installed last Tuesday and apparently they had Cleaners come in today. What we have to worry about is finding someone to do the driveway and at an affordable price and paying off our furniture.. also finding a fridge and washing machine! Our journey has been somewhat like a roller coaster up and down however wouldn't change a thing!
Well Hubby and I are going to go have a look tomorrow at the house and walk the dogs. Have been reading up on how to move your pets and it's been said to lessen the stress of a new environment we should walk the dogs there so that they have less stress settling in especially with the move. Has anyone had any trouble settling their pets in their new home?
Well besides that, that's we're at.. that's us at the moment, once the keys are handed over we plan to paint some feature walls around in the house before getting the flooring in , move in and have the appliances installed! Fingers crossed by the end of this month as we have relatives coming from America to attend my sisters wedding and it would be nice to have it all done so we can help the family house our relatives, otherwise it's going to be very cramped at my parents house! (all thirteen of them!)
